Amazon Fire HD 8 Reader’s Edition with Blue Shade feature, Kindle Unlimited subscription launched for $249.99

Amazon has introduced new Fire HD 8 Reader’s Edition tablet which is an 8 inch version of the Fire tablet that is aimed especially at readers.

The new Reader’s Edition also includes Blue Shade feature that adjusts and optimizes the display on your Fire HD 8 tablet to reduce blue light exposure before bedtime. Amazon says that Blue Shade uses specialized filters to limit exposure to blue light and also offers warm color filters and the ability to lower the display brightness to an ultra-low level for comfortable nighttime reading. Moving on, the device comes with a bunch of reading features such as bookerly font, word runner, multi-colored highlights, Whispersync for Voice, Kindle Sharing and Goodreads integration.

Amazon’s Reader’s Edition comes with 1 year of Kindle Unlimited (worth $120) allowing buyers to read and listen to audiobooks for an entire year. It also comes shipped with a rustic leather case. The device is available for pre-order for $249.99 while shipping begins December 9.
