Instagram hits 300 million monthly users

Instagram has announced that it has more than 300 million monthly users. The popular photo sharing app has revealed that over 70 million photos and videos are shared daily, a rise from 60 million since March.

“We’re thrilled to watch this community thrive and witness the amazing connections people make over shared passions and journeys. As Instagram gets bigger, we’re focused on helping you discover photos and videos from people who you care about, whether it’s a friend or your favorite musician”.

posted Instagram on a company blog.

Instagram has 200 million active users at the end of March which means that it has grown 50 percent in the past nine months alone. The 300 million user base makes Instagram larger than Twitter which had 284 million monthly active users as of the third quarter. Along with the increased user base, Instagram has also announced that it will be introducing verified profiles for public figures and companies.
