Facebook rolls out Save feature for Android, iOS and web to view music, links and more later

Facebook has introduced a new button that enables users to save items that can be read later. Dubbed simply as ‘Save’, the feature is similar to bookmarks and allows users to save links, music, places and more for later.

“Every day, people find all sorts of interesting items on Facebook that they don’t have time to explore right away. Now you can save items that you find on Facebook to check out later when you have more time. You can save items like links, places, movies, TV and music” wrote Facebook’s Daniel Giambalvo, Software Engineer in a company blog post.

Available on both mobile and desktop, the feature moves all the items to one place that can be accessed afterwards. On mobile devices, you can see all your flagged content in a new section under the “More” tab while the save content will be found in Save link in the sidebar on the desktop.

Users can share those items with friends or archive links once you have free time to read them. All the content is organized by category and Facebook said it will sometimes send reminders to users about what they have saved. Unfortunately, the Save feature does not support offline reading.

The feature will roll out to Android, iOS and web users of Facebook over next few days.
