Apple is marking World Mental Health Day on Saturday, October 10, with a limited-edition Apple Watch award and a new 20-minute Sleep Meditation on Apple Fitness+. The company has also highlighted mental wellbeing features, including mood tracking, mental health assessments, journaling and guided meditations across its devices and services.
Apple Watch
Apple Watch users can earn a limited-edition digital award on October 10 by recording a 10-minute meditation or workout using any app that adds mindful minutes to the Health app.
The Mindfulness app on Apple Watch offers Reflect and Breathe sessions, encouraging users to set aside a few minutes each day to focus, center themselves and connect with their breathing.
Track mental wellbeing
Users can log their state of mind in the Health app on iPhone or the Mindfulness app on Apple Watch by recording their momentary emotions and daily moods. The Health app can also show how their state of mind may correlate with lifestyle factors, including:
- Exercise
- Sleep
- Time spent in daylight
- Mindful minutes
Users can also take mental health assessments on iPhone and iPad to understand their current risk of depression or anxiety.
The Journal app on iPhone, iPad and Mac lets users record their momentary emotions and reflect on their day. Time spent journaling can automatically be added as mindful minutes in the Health app.
Apple Fitness+
Apple Fitness+ has introduced a new 20-minute Sleep Meditation with Christian for World Mental Health Day. The session invites users to wind down at the end of the day to help with sleep.
Fitness+ offers meditations intended to help users recharge, connect with themselves and others, and incorporate more mindful moments into their day. The sessions cover the following categories:

Users can access these meditations anywhere and at any time.
