Apple has updated the Final Cut Camera to version 2.4, bringing changes to the app for video recording on iPhone. The update also adds support for the new Fusion Main camera on the iPhone 18 Pro and introduces additional video tools with iOS 27.
Final Cut Camera 2.4 features
The redesigned Final Cut Camera provides access to settings such as shutter angle, ISO, and white balance. Users can also customize overlays, including false color and clipping indicators for exposure monitoring, while focus peaking now includes a sensitivity control.
In addition, a new tally light indicates when recording is underway. A two-finger tap also clears the viewfinder, allowing users to focus on the shot without the viewfinder controls and overlays.
Variable aperture on iPhone 18 Pro
Final Cut Camera 2.4 supports the new Fusion Main camera with variable aperture on the iPhone 18 Pro, bringing aperture control to the iPhone for the first time. Users can adjust the aperture settings or choose between shutter priority and aperture priority modes when recording video.
The update also adds Cinematic mode effects to regular video, including footage captured in ProRes and Apple Log. While editing this footage in Final Cut Pro, users can adjust the following:

Professional video tools with iOS 27
With iOS 27, Final Cut Camera adds support for professional video scopes, clean SDI out, and genlock offset. The RGB Parade displays the red, green, and blue color channels to help check color balance and exposure, while the histogram provides another way to monitor video.
The update also adds two tools for video output and synchronization:
- Clean SDI out: Sends a clean video signal using an HDMI-to-SDI converter for broadcast-quality streaming.
- Genlock offset: Compensates for image artifacts from a recorded display or latency differences between the iPhone and other genlocked cameras.

Final Cut Camera 2.4 is now available as a free update through the App Store, with variable aperture support on the iPhone 18 Pro and professional video scopes, clean SDI out, and genlock offset available with iOS 27.
