Adobe for Slack brings 70+ creative and productivity tools to Slack

Adobe has introduced Adobe for Slack, an app that brings more than 70 tools from Adobe’s creative and productivity suites into Slack. It includes Firefly, Adobe Express, Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, Stock, Lightroom and more.

Users can describe what they want to Slackbot, Slack’s built-in AI assistant, which can call the relevant Adobe tools. Slackbot can also pull relevant context from conversations, files, channels and Canvases for use when creating or refining content.

Create and edit content in Slack

Users can ask Slackbot to find and summarize information from a conversation or Canvas and use the Adobe app to turn that context into PDFs, images or videos. They can also search Creative Cloud assets by subject, style or mood, find content from previous projects or campaigns, and bring selected assets into Slack for editing.

The app supports creating variations of approved images and videos for different social media channels. Users can also browse thousands of design templates, customize the copy and colors, and then:

  • Animate designs for social media
  • Convert designs into print-ready PDFs

Users can bring spreadsheets into the workflow and transform the information into PDFs or visuals to share with their team or client.

Bulk image editing is also supported for content such as team headshots, event photos and product imagery. Editing options include:

  • Removing backgrounds and distractions
  • Adjusting lighting and tone
  • Cropping and resizing images

Users can request further refinements, edits or variations through Slackbot and share the resulting content in a team channel for review. For greater creative control, pixel-level precision or additional document features, they can continue working in Adobe Express, Photoshop, Premiere, Acrobat or Firefly.

Adobe integrations with AI chatbots

Adobe for Slack is part of Adobe’s effort to bring its creative and productivity tools to AI chatbot platforms. Adobe currently supports ChatGPT, Claude and Copilot, with Gemini support coming soon.

How to get started

Users can connect Adobe for Slack by:

  1. Opening a direct message with Slackbot.
  2. Selecting Apps and choosing Manage Apps.
  3. Selecting the + icon next to Adobe.
  4. Continuing as a guest or signing in with an Adobe account when prompted.
  5. Starting a conversation with Slackbot and asking Adobe to create, edit or transform content.

An Adobe account is not required to start using the app. Signing in or creating a free Adobe account provides access to additional tools and skills, generative AI capabilities, Creative Cloud files and continuity across sessions.

Availability

Adobe for Slack is available globally to Slack Business+ and Enterprise+ customers across desktop, web and mobile.

Speaking on the launch, Jaime DeLanghe, Chief Product Officer, Slack, said:

Slack is where work happens, and where AI is turning conversation into action. Bringing Adobe’s industry-leading creative and productivity tools directly into that flow means teams don’t have to leave their conversations to create. Adobe for Slack lets people turn the context and ideas already in their conversations into incredible content, then refine and build on it together, without breaking their stride. The Adobe app is a powerful example of how MCP apps in Slack can help teams turn conversation into action.
