Spotify rolls out Spotify 20 ‘Your Party of the Year(s)’ listening recap experience

Spotify has introduced a new mobile-only experience called Spotify 20: “Your Party of the Year(s),” which turns long-term listening activity into a personalized recap of user music history.

The feature compiles account-based streaming data into an interactive format that highlights how listening patterns have changed over time.

Spotify 20: Your Party of the Year(s)

The experience presents multiple layers of listening insights based on user activity, including:

  • First day of activity on Spotify
  • First streamed song
  • Most-streamed artist across account history
  • Total number of unique songs played
  • Changes in listening behavior across different time periods
  • A ranked collection of Top 120 songs with play counts

This creates a structured overview of long-term music listening patterns within a single experience.

How it works
  • Open the Spotify mobile app
  • Search for “Spotify 20” or “Party of the Year(s)”
  • Start the in-app interactive recap experience
  • Move through a step-by-step breakdown of listening history
  • View music insights in a sequential story format
  • Complete the experience to access downloadable share cards

The output can then be saved or shared externally.

Spotify 20 content expansion

Alongside the personalized recap, Spotify has also curated editorial playlists that revisit major genre shifts, cultural movements, and listening trends from the past 20 years. These playlists are grouped under the broader Spotify 20 campaign.

Availability

The experience is rolling out globally on the Spotify mobile app.

  • Available across 144 markets and supports 16 languages
  • Accessible via in-app search using “Spotify 20” or “Party of the Year(s)”
  • Also on Spotify’s official mobile landing page Spotify official site.
