Google Keep for Android silently renamed to ‘Keep Notes’

Google has silently renamed its ‘Google Keep’ to “Keep Notes.” with the V5.0.371.03 that started rolling out on Monday. This tiny rebrand is visible on the home screen icon, launcher, and Android’s App Info page in system settings. However, the Google web app page still refers to the service as Google Keep, and the Play Store listing is yet to be updated.

The new “Keep Notes” branding somewhat appears on the side panel add-ons visible in Gmail, Google Calendar, and Docs. This name change explicitly clarifies the purpose of the app. The Google Keep has long featured reminders, which lead to the confusion with Google’s Tasks app.

Google in the recent time’s updated Phone, Calculator, Chrome to material design, but Keep is due for a Material Theme brand. This new name might be used to usher that change in. You can download the latest version of Keep Notes from APK mirror here.
