Google Datally mobile data saver app launched for Android

Google has launched Datally smart mobile data saver app for Android. The app lets you understand, control and save mobile data and it also lets you track data usage in real time. Datally also sends you personalized recommendations on saving data along with notifications of public Wi-Fi spots available nearby.

You can view the data usage hourly, daily, weekly or monthly basis and even better, the app also send you recommendations on saving data further. The Data Saver bubble, when turned on, restricts background data usage and also displays real-time usage of a particular app while you are using it. You can just block the data usage of a specific app if the data usage gets out of control.

The app also notifies you about public WiFi spots nearby, and since it is from Google, we assume that the app only recommends open WiFi networks that are secure to use. The App is now globally available in the Google Play Store for phones running Android 5.0 Lollipop and higher.

Commenting on the launch of new app, Caesar Sengupta, Vice President, Next Billion Users, Google, said:

Mobile data is expensive for many people around the world. And what’s worse, it’s hard to figure out where it all goes. That’s why we built Datally, an app that helps you to control, save more and do more with your data. We’ve been testing Datally in the Philippines for the past few months, and people are saving up to 30 percent on their data.
