Latest Dropbox update lets you drag and drop URLs, check them later on web and apps

Dropbox has received an update that lets users drag and drop URLs. This essentially means that you can now save links in Dropbox on the web, desktop, and mobile and catch them later as webpages on any device where you use Dropbox.

“Now, you can drag and drop URLs into your Dropbox — on the web and on your desktop — and open them on any of your devices. This means you can take your bookmarks anywhere, instead of having them confined to a certain browser on a certain computer.”

posted Dropbox, in a company blog.

The feature works as bookmark for Dropbox. All the URLs that are saved are not limited to a specific browser. Dropbox will also enable you organize your bookmarks into folders that can contain more than just webpages. Dropbox says that this latest feature is helpful for students, who can organize and store URLs of academic sources during research for reading on the go or for future reference when drafting a paper. Although this is not a huge feature it is a useful one.

Earlier this year, Dropbox updated its mobile apps with the ability to open shared links. It even updated iOS app with options such as file commenting, editing office docs and more.
