Foursquare finally gets iPad app

Foursquare has officially rolled out iPad app with new features that focuses on travel planning and recommendations. The version 8.5 of the app makes it compatible with iPad’s larger display and shows bigger images.

The Foursquare app on iPad will enable users to discover locations like restaurants, bars, delis as well as different points of interest around their location. The app also comes with a Top Picks section to recommend up-and-coming events, newly popular joints and local favorites. You can also use this section to find recommendations for travel destinations around the world.

” Next time you’re trying to figure out what to do for your next trip or even just next weekend, fire up Foursquare. It’s focused on helping you plan smarter. Choose your city, and you’ll get a personalized list of all the great places there. And, with one-tap, you can easily save anything you like to your dream itinerary”

posted Foursquare on a company blog.

Earlier in May, Foursquare un-bundled some of its core features into a separate app dubbed as Swarm which entirely focuses on check-ins and find friends. Foursquare updated its Android and iPhone app in September this year with new features. You can download the new Foursquare app for iPad from Apple App Store.
