Mozilla plans to bring Firefox to iOS

Mozilla may soon bring its Firefox browser to iOS, said Mozilla’s release manager, Lukas Blakk on Twitter. The company plans to increase its  user base with this move.

Mozilla kept its distance from iOS platform because of Apple’s strict requirement that third-party web browsers must be based on its own WebKit web engine. Current third-party iOS browsers like Chrome or Opera can only operate on iOS because they use Apple’s own JavaScript and rendering engines.

The company is expected that the Firefox browser might use WebKit and add its own layer of interface and syncing functionality that will allow users tp access their bookmarks, tabs and passwords across their desktop and mobile browser versions. It is still unclear as to how and when Mozilla plans to bring Firefox to iOS.
