You can now search Snapchat Stories by content

Snapchat is adding a new feature that will allow users to search for more than 1 million stories. The search feature will use machine learning and let users search for Snaps about specific locations, events, and words.

For example if you search for cats, you will be able to see Snaps others have taken about cats. However, in order to be searchable, Snaps should be submitted to Our Story which is a collaborative stream of Snaps centered around events

Snapchat wrote in a blog post,

The best part of Stories is seeing the world through the eyes of our community. It’s easy to add your point of view — simply take a Snap and add it to Our Story! You might see it included in relevant Stories depending on what you’re Snapping.

Snapchat Stories search is rolling out in the US and will be available globally soon. Facebook copied Stories feature from Snapchat for its own platform as well as Instagram.
