Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) announced that it will roll out its 4G services across India by September 2022. Back in September 2018, BSNL got approval from the Indian Government for 4G services, but the rollout has been gradual. In order to lift the air of uncertainty over both BSNL and MTNL, now, the Government of India has approved BSNL-MTNL merger and has announced the allocation of 4G spectrum alongside clearing relief package.

This would let them attend calls from any network for free of cost, without any packs while roaming between Mumbai and Delhi. BSNL, State Owned Telecom Operator and MTNL would launch new free roaming plans starting from January 26th, according to a recent report from TOI. Videocon Mobile Services was the first operator in India to offer incoming calls free while on roaming on their own network by default, without any processing fee or a special tariff voucher. It also launched new packs later that offer free incoming calls while roaming on other networks. Other operators joined in with cheaper roaming plans starting with free incoming calls while roaming. Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL) has launched Unlimited BlackBerry service plan for its customers in Mumbai circle. The new Unlimited service plans—BlackBerry BIS 399, which offers customers access to e-mail (up to 10 e-mail accounts) and instant messaging, and BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) with 384 Kbps Speed. MTNL Mumbai has revised their old 3G tariffs and have also launched new plans for both pre-paid and post-paid customers. The Rs. 99 plan now offers 300 MB of 3G data, Rs. 250 offers 1.1GB of 3G data, Rs. 450 plan offers 2.2 GB of data and the Rs 750 plan offers 4.4 GB that are valid for 30 days. Earlier these plans were available on postpaid.There is a BlackBerry BIS Lite plan which offers unlimited email and BBM for Rs.251 per month.
