Speaking of exposure, HTC has an event for October 8th, titled ‘double exposure’. Now that could mean anything in the world, but thanks to HTC being a smart devices maker, we have a limited list to choose from. The event is believed to be coincident with the announcement of the HTC Eye smartphone, the one that’s expected to feature a 5.2-inch display and a Snapdragon 801 processor. Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus that were unveiled last week went on pre-order on September 12th in US, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Puerto Rico and Singapore. Apple just announced that both these smartphones received four million pre-order in the first 24 hours. The iPhone 5 that was released back in September 2012 saw only 2 million pre-orders in the first 24 hours. Sony has launched the Xperia E3 and Xperia E3 Dual, the company’s latest smartphones in the E series. Both these smartphones were unveiled at the IFA 2014 earlier this month and come with a 4.5-inch FWVGA touch screen display, 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, Android 4.4 (KitKat), 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a VGA front-facing camera. It’s Android One day today and we’ve got one of the first smartphones from the program with us, the Spice Dream UNO. Spice was one of the three manufacturers chosen for the program announced at the Google’s IO conference back in June. The Indian manufacturer, along with fellow competitors Micromax and Karbonn, has launched its first Android One device today, with a lot of support from Google. The Dream UNO, which is based off a strict chassis mandated by Google has its chipset powered by MediaTek and has almost the same specifications as the other phones that launched today. Priced at Rs. 6,299, the Dream Uno fulfills the idea of Android One, an affordable high quality device with stock Android that’s set to receive updates as fast as Google delivers them, so how is the device? It surfaced on Flipkart recently and packs a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes with 35GB of Google Drive storage, Spice Cloud app with 10GB of storage and pre-loaded apps. It has a 4.5-inch FWVGA screen, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. These specifications are similar to the Android One smartphones from Spice and Karbonn, only the design of the smartphone is different.
