Motorola has officially announced the new Trio of Droid phones, the  Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and the Droid Maxx for Verizon Wireless in USA. The Droid Mini is the a compact phone with a 4.3-inch HD edge-to-edge display and wireless charging capabilities, the Droid Ultra has a 5-inch HD display is is just 7.18mm thick. The Droid Maxx also has a 5-inch HD screen and packs a 3500 mAh battery that offers up to two days of battery life on a single charge. These are powered by a 1.7 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.2. All these are made with DuPont Kevlar fiber unibody design and has non-removable battery.

While the terms designed by you is still open for interpretation, Motorola has practically sealed the case for the next one by posting a tweet with a picture of the Moto X being manufactured at a Motorola plant in the USA.

Leaked Moto X video reveals an always listening Google Now with a sleeping screen

Seemingly controlled, yet another new Moto X leak has been let loose on the Internet. This time, it’s not the Google Chariman, but the Canadian carrier Rogers. In a “Tech Talk Experts” video, Rogers shows off the black Moto X, which very much looks like the Nexus 4, but shows off rather intriguing functionality. The Moto X is always listening to your voice for commands, just like the Google glass and will let you talk to it, without touching the phone. Much like the Microsoft Kinect on the Xbox One, Google Now always keeps its ears open for a specific command, in this case – “Ok Google Now”. Now the popular twitter user evleaks has leaked the image of the Droid mini (XT1030) posing along with the Droid Ultra and the Droid Maxx, as a family. The Droid Ultra and the Droid Maxx are rumored to feature a 5-inch display, so the Droid mini is likely to feature a smaller display. The display would have gorilla glass protection and the phone would have kevlar body. All these have capacitive touch buttons. This has Droid branding on the back along with the Verizon branding since this phone would head to Verizon Wireless similar to the other rumored devices, the Droid Maxx (XT1080M) and the Droid mini (XT1030). Ahead of the official announcement, we’re finally getting some concrete details about Motorola’s first handset designed while under Google’s ownership. The handset that will be completely assembled in the US is being called “the first smartphone you can design yourself.” New details have emerged regarding the level of customization that will be offered to buyers of Motorola’s new handset. It will be possible for buyers to select a cover for the back panel and also a trim color. Additionally, Motorola will offer a phone engraving service that will let users place a custom message on the backpanel of the phone. The Motorola Moto X was confirmed by the Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside back in May at the D11 conference that also revealed that the phone would be assembled in the USA. The new newspaper ad that was revealed by Ad Age reveals the Moto X smartphone campaign with a tag line “Designed by you . DROID Ultra landing page shows up on Motorola’s website

Motorola is all set to announce its next round of Android running devices. The company has partnered with Verizon and will be releasing the handsets as part of its Ultra series. In addition to the regular handset, we should also expect to see a MAXX edition which will pack a bigger and hence thicker battery pack. Rumors suggest that a smaller M model of the phone will also follow.

If this information is to be believed then the fabled Motorola Moto X may turn out to be a rather mid range handset. Motorola’s flagship Moto X to be out by October

At the D11 conference, Motorola CEO Dennis Woodside, confirmed that the smartphone manufacturer that has been keeping a low profile will be out with a new smartphone dubbed the Moto X later this year. Expected to be out by October, the phone is geared to have exceptional power management.

Woodside claims that this will be achieved by the use of dual processors though he did not clarify whether this meant the use of ARM’s big.LITTLE architecture or a physically distinct low power mode chip. Nexus-like Motorola prototype leaks out in pictures and video

Motorola has been dormant since the great Google acquisition with only a couple of device launches, namely the Razr i and the Razr/Razr MAXX HD. But with this new detailed leak, few of the remaining fans might be happy to see that the company is working on a new portfolio, which might be influenced by Google design. Known for its earlier high profile leaks, the Vietnamese site Tinhte.vn has leaked a confidential prototype Motorola device that pretty much resembles the Nexus 4 on its front. This mysterious device might just be a prototype, but we would really like to see it get iterated into a real product from Motorola, mainly because it is part of Google, now, and we might actually get to see the Google influences on the devices.
