The User Interface for the upcoming Android 6.0 Marshmallow update on Sony Xperia devices has been leaked by NTT Docomo, the Japanese telecom operator. The images reveal that the UI will look pretty similar to what we experienced on Android Lollipop itself.

Qualcomm has just announced that the Japanese company, NTT Docomo has become the first operator to adopt Qualcomm Snapdragon Sensor ID Biometrics Platform. The technology will be used for mobile biometric authentication service starting later this month in Japan.

NTT DOCOMO which is the leading Japanese Mobile operator is already an investor in Tata Teleservices and the Tata Docomo brand is a result of the joint partnership. Now the Japanese company plans to make an additional investment in the Indian mobile market as it plans to invest around 8 billion rupees ( 14.6 billion yen). Earlier this month, I was off to Japan on invitation from NTT Docomo as a part of the Tata Docomo 3G Life activity. Sounds like fun right ? Excitement is an understatement. I have always been amazed by the Japanese mobile market. Almost all of the products are not available outside the land of the rising sun.I have been very interested in NTT Docomo ever since I saw them at MWC and CommunicAsia. Stuff like Separable Phone and Eye controlled earphones are not something you would expect to see everyday. As you all might know NTT DOCOMO is one of the leading mobile operators in Japan with over 55% market share. The company holds 26% stake in Indian telecom operator Tata Docomo which sparked of the per second billing revolution and became the first private operator to launch 3G services.

Now Samsung India has announced that it has tied up with 5 leading mobile operators in India to offer special offers with respect to data usage on the Samsung Galaxy Tab. Airtel , Aircel , Reliance Mobile , Tata Docomo and Vodafone will offer special data packages for the Samsung Android Tablet.

NTT DOCOMO, has announced it’s plan to launch of Xi (read “Crossy”), Japan’s first Long Term Evolution (LTE) service on December 24, 2010 with maximum download speeds of 75 Mbps which is 10 times faster than DOCOMO’s current FOMA 3G service. The service will be initially offered via USB dongles to computers and support for voice calls will come in April 2011 to coincide with the company’s launch of LTE phones.
