Paytm has gone global. The home grown digital payments app and commerce company has launched in Canada. Users in Canada will now be able to pay for their cell phone, cable, internet, electricity and water bills using the new Paytm Canada app. They can also use it to pay insurance and property taxes.

Canada loans Vodafone $850 million to boost BlackBerry sales

Canada is backing the continued growth and existence of BlackBerry with a large 5-year $850 million loan to British communications giant Vodafone Group. Under the terms of the agreement, Vodafone will use $750 million to purchase equipment and services produced by BlackBerry and the other $100 million with smaller Canadian companies. Whatsapp takes a breather after investigation of privacy violation by Canadian and Dutch authorities

California-based Whatsapp inc., the ubiquitous internet messaging service that rapidly became popular on all SmartPhone platforms has been facing privacy issues since its humble beginnings, but it was stepped up another notch when Dutch and Canadian privacy investigators found some disturbing violations relating to how Whatsapp handles the contacts library. However, once the investigation was over, with Whatsapp offering to fix some  flaws quickly, the issue seems to be partly resolved. But authorities say it is far from over, and there is more work to be done, from Whatsapp’s end.

Rogers Wireless launching Blackberry Bold 9900 next week

BlackBerry Bold 9900 was announced by RIM back in May and it’s currently their best BB device to date. We told you that it’s coming out in August in UK and Play will be launching it on August 12 but did we tell you when the device is landing in Canada? Now it looks like we finally have some information related to the Canadian BB 9900. TechnoBuffalo is reporting that Rogers Wireless will officially launch the BB 9900 in Canada next week on August 9. There is no surprise in it that the device is hitting Canada first instead of US or UK, because Canada is the home of RIM, so probably this time they are starting from the home ground. But still, I would suggest to take all this rumor with a grain of salt and wait for official words from either Rogers or RIM. Telus launching HTC Status in Canada

HTC ChaCha was officially announced by HTC at MWC which features a dedicated Facebook button and a portrait QWERTY keyboard and it’s especially for people who can’t live without the world’s famous social network known as Facebook. A few days ago, it was launched by AT&T as HTC Status and it’s also AT&T’s first ever device debuting with Android 2.3 and they are offering it for $59 with a 2-yr contract.
