Qualcomm today announced  commercial sampling and conducted a live demonstration of Centriq 2400, which is the world’s first 10nm server processor. The Qualcomm Centriq 2400 series has up to 48-cores, is built on the 10nm FinFET process technology and features the Qualcomm Falkor CPU. “It has Qualcomm Datacenter Technologies’ custom ARMv8-compliant core, which is highly optimized to deliver both high performance and power efficiency, and designed to tackle the most common datacenter workloads,” said the company. Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017) renders surface, shows curved glass screen, metal frame

Renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A5 (2017) surfaced back in October, and the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2017) received Bluetooth certification, now renders of the Galaxy A3 (2017) has surfaced. This shows the smartphone with a curved glass screen and it could feature a fingerprint sensor on the home button. The back looks like glass, similar to the Galaxy S6 and S7 series.

Micromax has launched Vdeo 1 and Vdeo 2, two new budget smartphones with 4G VoLTE support. Both these also come pre-loaded with Google Duo video calling app out of the box and also come bundled with Jio SIM card. These have a metal back cover and run Android 6.0 (Marshmallow). The Vdeo 1 and Vdeo 2 feature 4-inch & 4.5-inch WVGA & FWVGA display, respectively, are powered by 1.3 GHz Quad Core processor, 1GB RAM, sport a 5MP rear camera and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Lenovo’s ZUK at an event in China announced a 600 yuan price cut for the Z2 Pro exclusive version with 6GB RAM and 128GB Storage that was introduced earlier this year. The ZUK Z2 Pro that was introduced for 2699 yuan will now be available for 2099 yuan (US$ 304 / Rs. 20,690 approx.). The ZUK Z2 that was introduced for 1799 yuan has received a 400 yuan price cut and will be available for 1399 yuan (US$ 200 / Rs. 13,790 approx.). Apple has named the best iOS apps and games for 2016. Prisma won the best app of the year and Clash Royale won the best game of the year in the U.S. and in India. App and Game Runner ups are different in the U.S. and in India. In the U.S., MSQRD is the runner-up app, while Reigns is the runner-up game, while in India Fitso Running & Fitness App is the runner-up app and Chameleon Run is the runner-up game. Paytm introduces toll-free number to access your account and pay without internet

Paytm today launched a new toll-free number (1800 1800 1234) that lets feature phone and non-internet users access their account and pay easily. To use this service, Paytm customers and merchants must set their 4 Digit Paytm PIN on call. They can then enter the recipient’s mobile number, amount and their Paytm PIN to successfully transfer the money from their Paytm wallet to another Paytm wallet. Google today started rolling out Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) update for the Pixel, Pixel XL and compatible Nexus devices starting from today. The Pixel devices that were launched in India came with Android 7.1 (Nougat) but did not have option to enable VoLTE (Voice Over LTE) support. The latest Android 7.1.1 finally brings support for VoLTE for Reliance Jio in India and other operators worldwide that support VoLTE. Meizu just announced M5 Note, the company’s latest smartphone in the Note series at an event in China, as it had promised. It a 5.5-inch 1080p 2.5D curved glass display, is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P10 processor, runs on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) with Flyme OS 6.0 on top. It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with phase-detection auto-focus (PDAF) for fast focus in just 0.2 seconds and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
