The phonebook can store 1000 contacts. Five numbers and five details can be stored in each contact. You can also attach a picture to a contact, the picture will appear when you receive a call. Searching a contact is also simple and easy, just type the first few letters of the contact. The first-last name has not been solved as yet. Synchronization of the phonebooks with computer is fast and easy. You can use Outlook Express to sync the contacts.
There seems to be a problem with the T9 dictionary. Many words that are frequently used were not present in my 6230i dictionary. This seems to be one of the main flaws in the phone. There is no doubt that Nokia has installed a new T9 Dictionary in the 6230i. The previous version of the T9 dictionary was much better in my opinion. The major problem is many of the words that were frequently used were not present in the 6230i dictionary.
The alarm application is good, you can set various alarm tones too. You can set a normal alarm, beep, ringtones, mp3 songs or even the radio(which need the headset to be plugged in). A new feature in the alarm is the repeated alarm which lets you set as to how many times you want the alarm to ring.
