The phone has the classic touch of the 6230; the phone feels very solid in your palms. The back cover doesn?t creak. The only noticeable difference between the 6230 and the 6230i is the new dedicated center key on the D-pad. This time there is actually a proper button for the middle button. The Center key is larger than the other control buttons. The keys are solid and easily controllable.
The Nokia 6230i uses a Standard Li-Ion 850 mAh battery which is supposed to give 5 hours of talktime and 300 hours of standby. The phone we tested lasted for about 2 days with 5 to 6 hours of talktime, including the 2 to 3 hrs with the phone connected via Bluetooth to a Bluetooth headset. Again tested the phone lasted for 4 days with a limited usage of 10 to 15 text messages, 20 mins of calls per day and the usual fiddling with the phone while reviewing it.
