Nokia have begun to start selling it’s first Notebook, the Booklet 3G. O2 Germany is the first to make the device’s global debut. Pre-orders have begun shipping and stocks should arrive in most shops by mid-November in USA.

In Germany, the Booklet 3G retails at 249 Euros and then 20 Euros monthly for a 24 month plan through O2.

In USA, AT&T is giving the Booklet 3G for 299$ with a two year plan.

So head out to your store and grab yourself one of these if it’s available.

Well Apple have now announced the updated version of the Apple iPhone 3G called the iPhone 3G S, the “S” stands for speed.

The handset looks almost identical to the previous model however in terms of usage, it’s nearly four times faster than before. The handset supports HSDPA upto 7.2Mbps.

The camera unit is now 3.2 Megapixel with Tap-To-Aufofocus, Macro and Auto White Balance and the added video recording at VGA 30FPS.

The battery life has been improved giving upto 5 hours of 3G talk-time and 9 hours of Wi-Fi usage. There are some other new features too:

• Holding down the menu button activates the voice control feature which allows you to perform any function from making calls to controlling iTunes.
• A Finger-Print Resistant Screen Coating

New and end-of-contract pricing is set at $199 for 16GB and $299 for 32GB when it goes on sale June 18th Stateside and in 80 more countries in August — and the current 8GB 3G will remain on sale for $99, effective immediately.

The same 3D technology is now ready to revolutionise the mobile experience and sans the awkward glasses too!!!

While simulating 3D has always been the ultimate dream for TV and Cinema, the first attempt to do so came in 1890. William Friese-Greene, a Brit film maker invented a process in which two films were projected side by side on screen, and the viewer looked through a stereoscope to converge the two images.

Although 3D has evolved since those days, the technology is expensive. However, adapting the technology to the mobile seems like an achievable task according to Atanas Gotchev, the scientific coordinator of the EU-funded Mobile3DTV project.

“The mobile market has always been much more dynamic and receptive to new technologies than the television market, as the whole idea of mobility is based on dynamism,” he says.

According to him, since the target audience of the mobile is a maximum of one or two persons, it becomes easy to satisfy the whims of this audience as the technical requirements are not that exacting. “As mobile devices are normally watched by a single observer, two independent views are sufficient for satisfactory 3-D perception.”

“In Mobile 3-D technology, the viewing mode is personal, the required display size is small and the user is expected to adjust the display position for the best viewing experience,” he notes.

The story of 3-D TV for mobile phones began as early as 2003, when Sharp launched a 3-D mobile phone in Japan and Korea’s SK Telecom launched a 3-D phone – from Samsung – in 2007, and Japan’s Hitachi just launched one in 2009.

a) The paucity of content and the fact that a profitable business model has not been worked out so far

b) Choosing the optimal format for representing 3-D video for mobile delivery

“While Apple’s iPhone supports 3-D TV, but can currently only be viewed with special glasses, Mobile3DTV is employing so-called auto-stereoscopic displays, which produce 3-D images that do not require those awkward glasses to view them – which is good news for people who want to be incognito about their mobile viewing” says Gotchev.

After the Nokia N800 and N810 Tablets, Nokia plans to launch a new Tablet. The rumoured Tablet is expected to be launched as the Nokia N900 and we have information and specifications of the device. This handset will have a major difference from it’s pre-decessors as it is not just an Internet Tablet but also a phone. Everything from the chrome trim to the slide mechanism for the keyboard was fantastic. It truly felt like a phone worthy of it’s price tag.

You’ll notice the Facebook widget. We also had a chance to view the Mapping program (was slightly buggy when we used it).

MTNL’s Chairman and Managing Director R.S.P Sinha will launch the 3G service at south Mumbai’s five star Hotel Taj President. To launch the 3G service in Mumbai, MTNL has already set up 720 base transceiver stations in the Mumbai Circle.

This comes as good news for MTNL mobile users who did not succumb to switching over to a private operator. While MTNL has not revealed the pricing of the service yet, it is certain that services such as Video calling, Video conferencing, and Rich Multimedia experience, Video on demand, Mobile Internet speeds up to 7 mbps and Mobile TV will now be accessible to users.

While 3G service was launched in Delhi in December 2008 followed by the launch of the service in Agra, Dehradun, Jammu, Jaipur, Jalandhar, Lucknow, Shimla, Patna, Ranchi, Haldia, and Durgapur by BSNL soon after, Mumbai citizens had to endure the wait.

We checked the Mumbai MTNL website and found absolutely no mention of the launch anywhere on the site. Shocking and disheartening! While we hope that the service is a lot better than their external communication, our experience tells us that we should adopt a wait and watch policy before we wax eloquent about the service, keeping in view their very ‘sarkari’ manner of functioning!

Everyone out there, is consistently eyeing on BSNL and MTNL to know when 3G services will be launched in their area.

About a couple of months ago, MTNL launched its 3G services in the capital city – New Delhi and in the same time announced that it will soon be launching 3G services in Mumbai as well.

According to rumors, 3G services was about to be launched in Mumbai in April itself, but now news are coming in that MTNL would launch 3G services in Mumbai in the month of May. So, the launch has now been delayed to 1 more month and 3G service seekers in Mumbai, will have to wait until May this year to see the modern technology go live on their city too.
