Motorola announces Q4 2011 earnings, 10.5M phones and 200K tablets shipped
Motorola Mobility has announced their financial Results for the fourth quarter of 2011. They have declared a net loss of $80 million on revenue of $3.4 billion last quarter. They managed to ship 10.5 million mobile devices, including 5.3 million smartphones and 200 thousand tablets in Q4 2011. Notion Ink Adam II tablet to come with TI OMAP processor and Android 4.0
Notion Ink has announced that they have partnered with Texas Instruments and their Adam II tablet would be powered by a OMAP44xx processor along with the TI components like Wi-Link 7.0 and Phoenix Audio Power Amplifiers. It would run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). They launched the Android 4.0 alpha ROM for the Adam earlier this week. LG has announced their first LTE tablet, LG Optimus Pad LTE that features a 8.9-inch ( 1280 x 768 pixels) True HD IPS in Korea. It is powered by 1.5 GHz Qualcomm dual-core / dual channel processor and runs on Android 3.2 (Honeycomb). It has 8MP camera with Full HD video recording, flash and BIS sensor, 2MP front facing camera. It is 9.34mm thick and weighs 479g. Notion Ink releases Android 4.0.3 Alpha ROM for Adam
Notion Ink has released the Android 4.0.3 Alpha ROM for the Adam tablet. They teased ICS on the Adam last month. They have fixed most of the bugs such as Audio, Sensors, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, SD Card Mount, GPS and it also has Hardware Acceleration in this Alpha version. Huawei has announced that MediaPad tablets would ship with Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). They claim that this is the world’s first tablet to come pre-loaded with the new Android 4.0. Aakash Tablet – Ubislate 7 Unboxing
We take a look at the WiFi version of the Aakash tablet also known as the UbiSlate 7. It was available for pre-order for Rs.2499 and those who had placed the order are finally receiving the device.The device is powered by a Arm11 – 366Mhz CPU and is not the fastest tablet out there but the price tag is pretty impressive. If you covert the pricing to USD it costs around 47 USD approximately which makes it one of the cheapest tablets in the world and carries the Made in India tag !
