Samsung patent hints at a full-screen fingerprint scanner

Samsung has filed a patent with the USPTO and WIPO which is a method for acquiring biometric information and electronic device supporting the same’. The patent was published on October 18, 2018. Unlike the regular optical in-display fingerprint scanner, Samsung has patented a new technology that makes it possible to use the entire display as a fingerprint scanner. Honor Magic 2 with 6.39-inch bezel-less AMOLED display, Kirin 980, 8GB RAM, triple rear cameras gets certified

After teasing the company’s flagship Honor Magic 2 smartphone at the Honor Play global launch in August, the company earlier this month confirmed that the phone will be launched in China on October 31st. It already confirmed  slide-out design, which it calls Magic Slide full screen with high screen-to-body ratio, now the phone has been certified by TENAA in China that reveals the complete specifications of the phone.

Google app suite could cost as much as $40 per device under new EU deal

Google a couple of days ago announced that it would charge Android manufacturers to use its app suite in Europe. According to documents obtained by ‘The Verge,’ a confidential fee schedule shows the cost as high as $40 per device to install the “Google Mobile Services” suite of apps, which includes the Google Play Store. WhatsApp seems to be working on ‘Vacation Mode,’ a feature which will no longer unarchive chats after they are archived. The current state of the chat will automatically unarchive whenever a new message is received from that Chat. This new feature will be available in WhatsApp settings when it is released. Update: @evleaks has shared more details about the four rear cameras on the Galaxy A9 Star Pro smartphone that will go official tomorrow. This coincides with earlier leak that revealed a 24MP f/1.7 aperture main sensor, 5MP depth-sensor for live focus with f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP 120 ° wide-angle lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 10MP Telephoto camera with f/2.4 aperture for 2X optical zoom.

Samsung Galaxy S10 powered by Exynos 9820 could come with dedicated NPU

Samsung is working on Exynos 9820, successor of the Exynos 9810, which will likely debut with the Galaxy S10 next year. Now, ex-Samsung Senior Hardware Design Engineer working on the next Exynos flagship chip on LinkedIn has mentioned that Samsung has completed working on its second-generation NPU architecture earlier this year.
