Airtel Digital TV today launched Internet TV, which is an Android TV box that is developed by LG that also offers 500 satellite TV channels. Airtel says that this is the first India’s first Hybrid DTH Set-top box. It comes pre-loaded with Netflix, YouTube, Google Play Music, Google Play Games, Airtel Movies and more apps. Sony Mobile has launched Xperia XA1, its latest mid-range smartphone and the successor of last year’s Xperia XA in India. It was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 in Barcelona and packs a 5-inch HD edge-to-edge display, similar to the predecessor, but this is powered by an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P20 processor and runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat). It has a 23-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Hybrid Auto-Focus and a 8-megapixel auto focus front-facing camera.
Micromax has launched Evok Power and Evok Note, two new smartphones in the ‘Evok series’, after almost an year of launching the Canvas Evok. The Micromax Evok Power comes with a 5-inch 720p display, while the Evok Note comes with a 5.5-inch 1080p display. Both the phones pack a 4000mAh battery and VoLTE support. The Evok Note comes with a fingerprint sensor on the front and the Evok Power has a fingerprint sensor on the back. Flipkart just announced that it has acquired eBay’s India business, after a report last week. It acquired Myntra back in 2014 in India’s biggest e-commerce deal and acquired Jabong, PhonePe UPI-based app last year.
Coolpad launched Cool 1 with dual 13-megapixel rear cameras last year. Today it has launched 3GB RAM version of the phone, compared to 4GB RAM version. Other specifications are same, including a 5.5-inch 1080p display, Octa-Core Snapdragon 652 SoC, Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and a 8-megapixel front-facing camera.
Vivo introduced limited IPL Edition version of the V5 Plus smartphone earlier this week to celebrate the 10 years of IPL, but it did not announce the price. Today the company has launched the smartphone in country and announced the price as well. It has the same specifications as the V5 Plus, including 20-megapixel front-facing camera with Sony IMX376 1/2.78″ sensor, f/2.0 aperture and an 8-megapixel secondary font-facing camera for capturing depth information. Apple announced new 9.7-inch iPad last month to replace the iPad Air 2 that was introduced in 2014. It is now available for pre-order from Flipkart in India. It has the same 9.7-inch Retina display, but this is powered by A9 chip and M9 motion coprocessor. It Touch ID fingerprint sensor and is just 7.5 mm thick. It also has a 8-megapixel camera and a 1.2-megapixel FaceTime HD front camera.
