Huawei’s Honor brand just launched its flagship Honor 10 smartphone for global markets, including India at an event in London,as it had promised. It was announced in in China last month and packs a 5.84-inch Full HD+ 2.5D curved glass display with a notch, 19:9 aspect ratio and 82.6% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by an Octa-Core HiSilicon Kirin 970 10nm SoC with i7 co-processor and runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) with EMUI 8.1 on top. OPPO Realme 1 with 6-inch FHD+ display, up to 6GB RAM, Android 8.1, Face unlock launched in India starting at Rs. 8990

Earlier this month OPPO and Amazon India partnered to introduce the Realme smartphone brand, and it had promised it has launched the Realme 1 smartphone in the country. It packs a 6-inch FHD+ display with 1.98mm slim bezels on the sides and 84.8% screen-to-body ratio, but it doesn’t have a notch like the OPPO A3 that was introduced recently. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio P60 12nm SoC with up to 6GB of RAM and runs on Android 8.1 (Oreo) with ColorOS 5.0 on top. Airtel completes acquisition of Telenor India

Airtel today announced that it has completed the acquisition Telenor India, after a year of entering into an agreement to acquire Telenor India’s running operations in seven circles – Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Gujarat, UP (East), UP (West) and Assam, and transfer of all of Telenor India’s assets including spectrum, licenses and operations, including its employees and customer base of 44 million as well as outstanding spectrum payments and other operational contracts, including tower lease. Smartphone shipments up 11% YoY in Q1 2018 in India, Xiaomi continues to lead with 30.3% share: IDC

According to IDC, Indian smartphone shipments reached 30 million units in Q1 2018 and has seen a healthy 11% YoY growth, but it remained flat when compared to the previous quarter; Q4 2017. Xiaomi launched its Mi Crowdfunding in India last month with two products – Mi Selfie Stick Tripod and Mi Bluetooth Audio Receiver, to enable users support, buy and also help Xiaomi decide which products can be launched in India.
