Xiaomi has posted a teaser confirming the launch of three new smartphones in the Redmi 6 series – Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and the Redmi 6 Pro. The company already confirmed that it will not launch the Mi A2 Lite in India, so it will be launching the Redmi 6 Pro instead. The event is set for September 5th.

It has the same 5.5-inch FHD+ FullVision Display and packs the same 3,000mAh built-in battery, but this is powered by a 1.5GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6750S SoC and runs Android 8.0 (Oreo). Google at the ‘Google for India’ event announced ‘Read out Loud’ feature for Google Go browser that lets listen to web pages out loud in 28 languages including Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi and Tamil in a natural sounding voice. It is powered by natural language processing and speech synthesis AI and works even in 2G connections with minimal cellular data use.

Earlier this year Google announced that it will be combining Android Pay and Google Wallet, into a single brand – Google Pay, making it an unified payment solution, and it started rolling out from February. At that time the experiences will be coming to Tez users in India soon. Today at the Google for India event the company said that Tez will be rebranded as Google Pay.
Realme today launched the Realme 2, the company’s second-generation smartphone as it had promised. It has a 6.2-inch HD+ 19:9 aspect ratio display with a notch and 88.8% screen-to-body ratio, Snapdragon 450 SoC with up to 4GB RAM, ColorOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 (Oreo), 13-megapixel rear camera along with a secondary 2-megapixel camera for portrait shot and 8-megapixel front camera with AI beautify features that intelligently recognizes 296 facial features as well as face unlock. It has similar specifications as the OPPO A5 which was launched last week.
