It seems apt that Nokia has chosen to announced a new colour Lumia 800 this week. Europe has been blankated by snow - so what better way than to celebrate than making official the white version. White is a popular colour for a phone, and while the previous versions has always looked so darn beautiful on the Lumia 800's Polycarbonate unibody shell, it just isn't quite as sexy as it is in white.
Unlike its technicolour cousins, the white Lumia 800 features a glossy finish rather than matte. This means that it attracts fingerprints, and doesn't hide scratches nearly as well as matte. Why no matte? Well Nokia's explanation is that a glossy finish is easier to clean than a matte one - highly critical with a product of this colour. Regardless the glossy finish really compliments the snow white colour really well. While it does attract fingerprints, it isn't as apparent as I assumed it would be.
In any case all four of the Lumia 800 features the exact same specifications, down to the 16GB storage - meaning, unlike the N9, there is no 64GB version. Still you can't argue that the white version does looks rather sleek, and would no ...

Yesterday Nokia all but confirmed the white Lumia 800, which we will go hands-on soon. But they also showed off another Windows Phone device. Whether accidental or intentional, the Lumia 900 sans AT&T logo is featured, in plain sight, on their Facebook page. And in white.
While Nokia has not confirmed the international variant of the Lumia 900, it is expected that the specifications will remain the same as the AT&T version, minus the LTE radio. As MWC is in the next couple of weeks, speculation is rife that Nokia will announce the GSM version of the Lumia 900, and this leak will only further confirm that.

The smartphone in the press image above is the Samsung Galaxy S II Plus. The image was uploaded onto Twitter by Eldar Murtazin.
The device is said to feature a faster 1.5GHz Dual Core Processor. Not much other information is known about the device but it does look very identical to the Galaxy S II which gives us reason to believe that it could be the Galaxy S II Plus.
However for the very same reason, we also think that it could very well be a fake image. The screen seems to look a little odd as well. The home button is now missing and three new Android Ice Cream Sandwich style buttons have been added.
So if the photo is indeed real, this could suggest that Samsung is not yet ready to do away with keys completely. The phone also seems to have a slimmer waistline. The top looks tapered and the bottom bump is not very evident. Hence it might have gotten smaller or the bump has been removed altogether. But due to the angle of the image, its very tough to decide.
With Samsung officially confirming that the Galaxy S III will not make an appearance at MWC (Mobile World ...

Samsung has just signed a joint venture with Corning to to manufacture a new range of speciality glass substrates for its OLED equipped devices.
If the name Corning sounds familiar to you, its probably because you've heard of Gorilla glass. Gorilla glass is one of the strongest materials used for displays in smartphones.
The venture will be based in Korea and will combine Samsung's OLED expertise with Corning's Lotus Glass technology.
This would enable Samsung to widen the range of smartphones that will use their technology. It will also help it to compete with LG and other makers who provide displays to brands such as Apple.

Earlier, we had brought you the news that the LG PRADA 3.0 is set to arrive in UK sometime in early February. However it now seems that the phone will arrive earlier than expected.
According toPhones4U, the phone will be available for purchase starting tomorrow (Friday, 27th January 2012). Phones4U have been known to provide handsets a few days before other retailers sell it, they did the same with the Galaxy S II.
You will be required to sign a contract though.A range of plans and operators are available to choose from including Orange, Vodafone and O2. If you wish to get the handset free of charge, the lowest monthly package is for 31 GBP.
The handset is expected to be available unlocked starting sometime in February.

Nokia has announced that they have shipped over 1.5 billion Series 40 (S40) phones. Their first Series 40 phone, Nokia 7110 was developed in 1999 that offered web-based functions, including email. The 1.5 billionth phone was received by a female consumer in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. Their latest S40 phone Nokia Asha 303 with QWERTY keypad, Touch screen display and 1 GHz processor was announced at the Nokia World last year.
There are 675 million active owners of S40 phones in the world, and Nokia is selling about 12 S40 phones every second according to a report from BBC. These affordable S40 devices for the next billion people now come with innovative features including Nokia Maps for Series 40, Nokia Browser and Web Apps, Nokia Money and Nokia Life Tools, Social networking and Instant messenger support.
Nokia bought Smarterphone, an operating system vendor that delivers operating system optimized for feature phones earlier this month. They might enhance their S40 phones' UI with this.
The latest Nokia Asha 300 and Asha 303 should hit the Indian market soon.

The Nokia Lumia 710, announced at last year's Nokia World, is Nokia's second Windows Phone device. The Mango-powered smartphone will be making its way across stores worldwide.
The Lumia 710 is Nokia’s attempt at making Windows Phone cheaper and accessible to the market. While the Lumia 710 can be considered an 'entry level' Windows Phone, the specs says otherwise. Unlike entry level Android phones for example, the Lumia 710 features the same speedy 1.4GHz Snapdragon SoC that powers the Lumia 800.
Apart from the same processor and graphic accelerator, the Lumia 710 differs from using a different screen technology (Clear Black LCD vs Clear Black AMOLED), running on the same 480x800 resolution. Unlike the screen on the Lumia 800, the display here uses traditional RGB matrix rather than much maligned PenTile.

The camera is a 5MP variety with a LED flash. While it ins't a Carl Zeiss branded, the camera is capable of taking 720p videos. While the Lumia 800 shares the same body as the Meego-powered Nokia N9, the Lumia 710 is a Nokia 603 after undergoing a Windows Phone transplant. The 1300mAh battery is disappointing, but at least it is replaceable.
Despite the use of plastic, the 710 feels solid and comfortable to ...

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is actually a sweet device and currently the only one in the world according to my knowledge to run on Android 4.0 also known as ICS. The Galaxy Nexus is the 3rd member of the Nexus family of devices from Google and it is a c0-branded handset from Google and Samsung which runs on stock Android without any customization. The device was supposed to be launched in November last year and was postponed to December. Now more bad news as Samsung India's official account tweeted that the device will now be tentatively launched in March. Still no definitive date though. Having used the Galaxy Nexus for around a month now , I actually like the device for a few things - Ice Cream Sandwich , it will be the first device to get Android updates as it is pushed directly by Google. The Camera is also incredibly fast. One thing i dislike about the device is the low quality of build materials used. Each time I open the back cover, I have a feeling it will break.
I don't understand what is stopping Samsung from releasing this handset soon in India. Are they afraid of jeopardizing sales ...

Recently we were invited for a HUAWEI Blogger's Meet in Mumbai and were shown 3 recently launched HUAWEI Android devices. Here are some hands-on photos of the SONIC.
HUAWEI SONIC is an entry level 3G Android phone running Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 with 3.5-inch HVGA LCD display. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 SOC (System on Chip) running at 600MHz with 256MB RAM and 512MB ROM. It has 1400mAh Li-ion battery.
[gallery link="file" orderby="title"]
We were quite impressed by this device. The 3.5-inch HVGA display is actually quite nice and one of the best we have seen in any entry level Android device. It was quiet sharp despite the HVGA resolution and quite bright. SONIC has full plastic body but its complete matte finish with soft touch gives quite nice feel while handling the device. SONIC has been launched in India and it's already available in retail market at MOP of Rs. 8,900.
We will review the HUAWEI SONIC soon.

ACE in white looks quite stunning. Now its preloaded with Android 2.3.5 which provides performance boost to the ACE. It is quite smooth and snappy out of the box compared to Android 2.2 (Froyo). Other that the software it is similar to the black version of the Galaxy Ace The current MOP of ACE White edition is Rs. 14500/- in Mumbai, India.

In recent years, manufactureres have managed to create phones that can even rival some of the dedicated computers in terms of performance. But the battery life is one aspect that hasnt improved over time.
Although the battery capacities have increased, the actual battery life remains the same if not lesser than previous generation mobile phones. Samsung has now acknowledged the problem relating battery life especially in their devices.
According to Kevin Packingham, VP at Samsung product innovation, Samsung is trying to build phones whose battery lasts a full day under moderately heavy use. They know that battery life hasn't been the best aspect of their smartphones but they've made progress.
They would improve battery life not just by optimising the battery usage but also using larger capacity batteries. But he also stated that power users might always end up facing the problem and that they would have to resort to carrying extra battery or using battery packs at least until solar power becomes popular.
He described 2011 as a transitional year due to the implementation of new technologies and promised that 2012 will deliver better quality smartphones.

Have you ever wanted an external split keyboard which is foldable, does not use any battery, does not need to be charged, has no wires, no pairing and is waterproof? Well then the One2Touch keyboard is what you have been waiting for.
From the look of the video below we can see that the device just has to be placed in space provided and start typing on the keyboard. The keyboard comes with NFC built in, and NFC pairing between both the devices is needed for the keyboard to work, but the video says there is no kind of pairing, this confuses me a bit. How can the keyboard work without any kind of pairing? Well we will have to wait until the devices launches and the reviews surface.
httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8CWUv1lH64
Though the concept sounds really interesting, the price is a let down, it costs around $65 which is too high for just a keyboard. Also the space for the phone to be placed does not look that big, I wonder whether my Galaxy Nexus would fit in. Well, we will get to know more once it has been launched so stay tuned.

You can grab a Nokia Lumia 800 for as low as Rs.27798 and the Lumia 710 for Rs.17593. Once you add the item to your cart use the coupon SH911 to get the best price.
Although the site promises free next day delivery , when we entered a pincode , it said that it will be delivered in 4 days for the 800 and 2 days for the 710. Personally none of u here have shopped on Saholic but the site is from the Spice Group which has it's own mobile phones in the market.
Phone or Tablet ? Samsung themselves have been unable to decide how to promote the Galaxy Note. With a massive 5.3" screen , active digitizer, the Galaxy Note is also the perfect note taking device. How does it cope up as a phone ? Read the FoneArena Galaxy Note review to find out.
For starters lets give you an idea about the size of the Note, thats the device next to the iPhone 4S.
And here is Note next to the Galaxy Nexus and the Galaxy S2
Hardware
One look at the Galaxy Note and all you can notice is the screen. Massive , bright , gorgeous. The screen is the highlight of the device which is essentially a giant sized Galaxy S2. Much heavier than the S2 , the Note weighs in at 173gms compared to the light 116gms of the S2.
The build quality is above average and the patterned back actually feels quite nice in hand.
The Note is definitely one of the most powerful devices in the market at the moment and comes equipped with a giant list of features which includes :
	146.9 x 83 x 9.7 mm, 178g Phone-Tablet hybrid formfactor
5.3 Inch 16 Million colors Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen at WXGA ...

One thing I passionately hate about the iPhone 4S is the inability to turn 3G data off. This is annoying if you are using the device in areas where 3G coverage is not great. The phone does switch to 2G networks when 3G coverage is absent but users could not control it manually. It kills the battery also pretty fast. Some were blaming the new Qualcomm chip in the device while rest were blaming Apple for their futuristic thinking of a world with flawless 3G / HSPA coverage. Now good news for all iPhone 4S users. In the latest developer build , the 3G network toggle has reappeared.I can confirm as you can seen in screenshots is a device running iOS 5.1 beta 3 which was released today.
On the left is the iPhone 4S on 2G. Full bars. On the right is the iPhone 4S on 3G with ONE bar. I use BSNL 3G on the 4S coz coverage is great outdoors but its not so great indoors. Hope the update improves the battery on the 4S.
I'm not sure why Apple decided to remove the 3G toggle while shipping the 4S.But good news is , it is coming soon to your ...

Last year, Samsung announced the company’s first phone/tablet hybrid device, the Samsung Galaxy Note. Samsung also announced that the global sales of Galaxy Note has finally crossed the 1 million mark within 2 months of its official launch. This was definitely a great news, since the device was not yet available in the US. We have already seen the leaked pics of the AT&T Galaxy Note couple of times. Now, AT&T officially announced the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy Note at the CES 2012 in Las Vegas. This device will be exclusively available for the AT&T customers in the US.
"We welcome the Galaxy Note to the U.S. and are pleased to expand on our popular Galaxy™ family of premium products," said Dale Sohn, president of Samsung Mobile. "The innovation in this product including the capabilites of the S Pen continue to show Samsung's leadership in bringing cutting edge design and features to our customers."
AT&T Galaxy Note features a 5.3 inch HD Super AMOLED display, sporting a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, Android 2.3.6 (Gingerbread) Operating System, 8 megapixel AF camera with flash, Full HD (1080p) video recording and playback, 2 megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, etc.

We told you that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which is actually the best and up-to date Android phone currently in the market is soon going to be available in white.Turns out that the photo we posted in the article yesterday is actually a render as we now the received official pictures courtesy of retailer Clove. If you were looking for a all-white Galaxy Nexus , get ready to be disappointed a little.
While the back of the phone looks nice in white , the front side is a bit underwhelming. I guess the render looks a lot better. Do you agree ?

A couple of UK retailers just informed us that the white version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus which is currently the world's only phone to run on Android Ice Cream Sandwich will be available next month in the UK. MobileFun is hinting at a release date of February 2nd and will sell the white device for 519 GBP including VAT.Clove is indicating a release date of 6th February and will sell the device for 498 GBP including VAT.We really like the black version of the device and the white looks equally attractive. Anyone interested in the white version of the Galaxy Nexus ? Specs wise , it should be identical to the black version.
Turns out the above images was actually a render and not accurate. The official images just landed in our inbox and we have posted them here.

INQ Cloud Q that was expected to launch late 2011 has been cancelled according to a report from Electricpig. INQ launched their first Android phone iNQ Cloud Touch last year via Carphone Warehouse in UK. The INQ Cloud Q that was supposed to come with 2.6-inch touchscreen, QWERTY keyboard and Android 2.2 that was showcased at Mobile World Congress last February.
The company might come with a phone with new hardware and software later this year but they do not have any plans to unveil any new devices at Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona next month.
The company launched their Social apps for Android last year that were available only for INQ based handsets. The iNQ Cloud Touch sold out in UK but is available in limited markets including Canada, Australia and Italy. They have also collected data based on their software and they might also conduct further trials via the Android Market to bring out better phones in future.
