Well this is not first time a Social Networking oriented Phone has been launched. We have seen INQ phones, HTC ChaCha & Salsa facebook smartphones. But Vodafone Blue Facebook phone is definitely something different. There are few reasons.
1. The price factor:
This new Vodafone Blue is priced for just Rs. 4950/- which includes all taxes (USD 108.00). Except INQ series both HTC ChaCha (Rs. 15,500/-) and Salsa (Rs. 18,900/-) are way expensive.
2. The main USP is Facebook:
Facebook has been really deeply integrated in this Vodafone Blue Facebook phone. Every important FB functionality is available in it including Messages, Mail, Photos, Chat, Search, Status updates, News Feed, Groups, Calendar with all friend’s birthdays and various events get synced. The synchronisation is really fantastic for a phone which is just priced at 4.9k. Also the user is not required to manually update the phone but every FB update is pushed to the phone automatically. There is also quite good multitasking for FB Chat, IM, Music and FM Radio background playback and so on. The instant photo sharing is really a cool feature with dedicated camera button for the same. We actually felt that the phone runs something like ‘Facebook OS’ than some ...

Yesterday we saw Oracle suing Google over 7 different patent and copyright infringements, which is related to Android and Java. As we know that Oracle acquired Java maker Sun Microsystems last year, and now Java is their property. We were waiting for Google to come out and give a strong reply to Oracle, and they did. Have a look on what Google is saying:
“We are disappointed Oracle has chosen to attack both Google and the open-source Java community with this baseless lawsuit. The open-source Java community goes beyond any one corporation and works every day to make the web a better place. We will strongly defend open-source standards and will continue to work with the industry to develop the Android platform.”
Not only Google is disappointed, all the Android and Google lovers are disappointed. Google is trying their best to defend its mobile OS from the Oracle attack. May be Oracle will be replying to Google regarding the issue soon if they want to continue the legal war. May be Oracle is out of money, so that's why they are suing Google for some money like they sued Microsoft in 2004, and got $1.6 Billion to resolve the issue. Lets see if Google can ...

Bitstream the company behind the Bolt Mobile Browser has released the 2.1 version of it's BOLT Browser which was in a Beta for sometime. What's cool is that the company is claiming that the browser has the best mobile browser video support. If that's true then its some serious competition for Skyfire. This version has HTML5 Video support in addition to Flash. Bollywood sites such as hungama and bollywoodhungama are supported.
As you can see in the Screenshots below Video playback is possible and even FacebookChat is supposed to work
BOLT 2.1 Features
	Batter Video Support
	Tabbed Browsing
	Widgets
	Download Manager
	Integration with Social Networking Sites
We were wondering if BOLT was a big player considering the huge adoption for Opera Mini. BOLT claims to have a user base of over 6.5 million users out of which 20% are from India. And they are adding 1 million users a month which is impressive. Over 700,000 users downloaded the 2.1 Beta version.
You can logon to the BOLT website to grab the latest version.
UPDATE : Download will be available by 12:30 PM IST
Note: Bolt is a Java application and runs on any phone that supports Java apps. It has a special installer for Blackberry and Lite version too incase you ...

The ability to browse over 10 tabs on a tiny mobile screen is so impressive
The software uses special server side compression to compress pages before sending it to your phone. This means you save on data charges and also on battery life. It's got a speed dial ,download manager and even offline browsing in the name of saved pages. You can sync bookmarks and other information with Opera PC software using Opera Link. You can copy text from the app to the phone or search the selected text on Google. You enter this mode by a long press. It's possible to open links in new tabs.
Here are some screenshots of Opera Mini 5 in action on a Nokia E72

Yesterday we had told you about the copy paste feature of the new Opera Mini 5. However many of the people were facing difficulties doing the same, in mobile devices which had a QWERTY keypad eg E71, E61i etc. The difficulty arose because Opera Mini is a Java Application and hence the normal CTRL+C and CTRL+V does not work in Opera Mini 5.
Gerry Moth from Nokia Addict has now found out the correct way to copy paste from webpages on E71 and E61i.
How to Do Copy Paste:
You just have to press 1 or hold the OK d-pad key down for a while and then you will be able to select text/copy text or paste the text.
For more Opera Mini shortcut keys in E71, just head over to Nokia Addict's Article.
Update: If inline editing is disabled, then the native phone UI in E71/E61i takes over and CTRL+C / CTRL+V will start working again. To disable Inline editing, just go to the "Settings -> Advanced ->Inline Editing" in Opera Mini 5.

While only the premier mobile phones like the iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Nokia S60 phones enjoy a lot of attention in the mobile application domain, most of the mobile subscribers around the world use only an entry level phone or any basic feature phone.
Keeping that in mind and to cater to the entry level mobile phone users, Microsoft has just introduced the "OneApp platform" with its primary goal, being able to allow developers to develop mobile apps for handsets which have a very limited processing power and low internal memory.
Some of the demo apps which are already available to download are Lite versions of Facebook, Twitter, Windows Live Messenger and many other programs which consume very minimal data usage.
The OneApp application will be compatible with most feature phones that has support for Java and is also very lightweight with an on-phone footprint of just around 150 KB which makes the installation very easy and very fast. Also it will launch only the part of the application which the user wants to use, hence saving on the precious system resources of the phone. Microsoft has also added that, if need be, they will store some of the programs' data on ...
