The Sony Ericsson Arc is finally available for purchase on UK Retailer Clove and the handset is shipping as early as tomorrow. The asking price is 349 GBP (418 GBP in. VAT). SPB Shell 3D for Android Review

SPB Mobile Shell is one of the essential applications I have on my Nokia N8 and previously on my older Windows Mobile phones. It is a replacement application launcher that works not only quicker and better than Nokia’s default homescreen, but also in a way that makes the device much more pleasant to use. So when SPB asked if I wanted to try out the beta for SPB Shell 3D for Android, I seized the chance. It is hard getting excited about applications these days, more so mobile applications, but I truly had high hopes for SPB.

Nokia E7: Does It Compete With The N8 Or The HTC Desire Z?

In many of my posts about the Nokia E7, ever since I received my trial unit, I kept saying that “I don’t get it”. I don’t understand the purpose of the E7 or who will buy it or for what reason. The rationale behind my thought was that in terms of Symbian competition, the Nokia N8 offers a much more complete package, while in terms of QWERTY/Business competition, there are plenty of better options with Android on board.

However, saying something is not like proving it in an objective comparison of specs, so given that I have an N8, E7 and HTC Desire Z in my hands, I set out to take some pictures of all of them for you, and to do a specifications comparison table.

HTC Thunderbolt to get Gingerbread Update

HTC Thunderbolt has been considered as one of the most promising Android phones since its launch. But that didn’t  last for a long time, with users complaining about minor bugs, especially with the Bluetooth compatibility of the phone. Xperia X10 getting Gingerbread update !

Xperia X10 was Sony Ericsson’s first Android smartphone with 4-inch capacitive touch display, 8.1 megapixel camera, and the cool Rachael Android UI with Mediascape and Timescape UI. The Xperia X10 got updated to Android 2.1 last year. It looks like they have changed the mind of canceling updates to X10.
