Lenovo IdeaPhone A800 hands-on

Lenovo unveiled the IdeaPhone A800 along with the range of Android smartphones at CES 2013, and we got some hands-on time with the entry-level music phone at the show. It has a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA IPS display, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) with custom Lenovo UI on top. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby. It has SmartMusic technology and SRS support for enhanced audio output.

Lenovo IdeaPhone P770 hands-on

Lenovo showcased their latest android line-up at the CES 2013, and we got some hands-on time with the IdeaPhone P770. This phone is aimed at business users, and Lenovo managed to pack a whopping 3500 mAh battery that would offer up to 30 hours of talk time. It is has a 4.5-inch (960 x 540 pixels) qHD IPS screen with wide viewing angle. Lava Xolo A500 with 4-inch display, 1GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.0 launched for Rs. 6999

Lava has launched the Xolo A500, new Android smartphone in the A series. The company launched the A800 and A700 few months back powered by dual-core MediaTek processor, but this has a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It comes with a 4-inch (480 × 800 pixels) display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 0.3MP front-facing camera for video calling.  It has Dual SIM support similar to other Xolo A series smartphones. Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update starts rolling out

Samsung has started rolling out Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) update for the international version of the Galaxy S2 (GT-I9100) starting from Spain. Samsung is rolling out the Android 4.1.2 update for the S2 directly, skipping the Android 4.1.1 that rolled out for the Galaxy S3 back in September starting from Poland, and rolled out in India in November. LG Optimus G global roll out starts this month, launching in over 50 countries

LG has announced that the Optimus G would be rolled out in over 50 countries starting this month. The LG Optimus G was announced back in August, which went on sale in Korea in September 2012, and also launched in United States, Canada and Japan last year. The LG Optimus G Pro, successor of the Optimus G was announced in Japan earlier today, but no details about the global launch for that device yet. Byond launches B51 and B54 Dual SIM Android phones

Byond Tech has launched B51 and B54 Dual SIM Android phones powered by a 1GHz processor. The Byond B51 comes with a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 Pixels) capacitive touch screen, while the Byond B54 has a 4.0-inch (480 x 800 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display. These run on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread). Both these phones have a 3MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing camera. The Byond B54 comes with 4 GB Memory Card with pre-loaded content. Byond Tech launched the B63 with a 4.3-inch qHD screen and Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) last week. Samsung launched the Galaxy Grand (GT-I9082) in India today, and we got some hands-on time with the device. The Galaxy Grand has a 5-inch (800 x 480 Pixels) capacitive touch screen display, which is bright. Samsung Galaxy Grand with 5 inch display, Dual SIM and Android 4.1 JellyBean launched at Rs.21500

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Grand in India at a launch event in Delhi. The Galaxy Grand packs a really big 5 inch display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz Dual Core Processor. If you notice in the above photo , you can find the Duos branding on the top right of the phone which is found on Samsung’s Dual SIM devices. The Galaxy Grand does offer Dual SIM functionality and Samsung is calling it Smart Dual SIM. The Galaxy Grand has been priced at Rs.21500 MRP

NEC Medias W with dual 4.3-inch qHD displays announced in Japan

NTT Docomo has announced NEC Medias W (N-05E) in the docomo NEXT series in their Spring 2013 line-up. This Android smartphone comes with dual 4.3-inch (540 x 960 pixels ) displays that can also fold, so that you can use it as a single screen. Both these displays create a square of 5.6-inch display that would offer more screen real estate to use keyboard in one screen, while using SNS apps, browsing and watching videos. Even though we have already seen Kyocera Echo and the Sony Tablet S2 back in 2011 with dual touch screen displays, this one seems better in terms of implementation and design. LG Optimus G Pro announced in Japan, 5-inch 1080p display and 3000 mAh battery

NTT Docomo has announced the LG Optimus G Pro (L-04E) in their Spring lineup that comes in the docomo NEXT series. The LG Optimus G Pro first showed up in a leaked slide last week. It packs a 5-inch (1920×1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display, powered by 1.7 GHz quad-core Qualcomm APQ 8064 processor with Adreno 320 GPU and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).  It comes with a whopping 3,000 mAh battery. HTC Butterfly Benchmarks


HTC launched the Butterfly on Japan’s KDDI network back in October 2012, released as Droid DNA in the U.S. and it was announced for global markets in December. We posted hands-on photos of the Butterfly last week, now we have benchmarks of the device. The performance is top-notch when compared to the other quad-core Android devices. The HTC Butterfly is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor Qualcomm APQ8064 processor and the Adreno 320 GPU, similar to the Optimus G and the Google Nexus 4. It out performs all the current quad-core smartphones in most of the benchmarks.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD with 5-inch HD display, 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1 announced

Micromax has announced the A116 Canvas HD, their new Flagship device. It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 8MP rear camera with LED Flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. It also comes with Hookup Instant messaging app. Micromax launched the A110 Superfone Canvas 2 and the A90S Superfone Pixel powered by dual-core processor last year. HTC M7 with Sense 5.0 new images surface

New images of the HTC M7 has surfaced online. Unlike the previous render that surfaced last week, this is the image of the real hardware. These images might not be the final one since there is no FCC ID. There are also new renders of the phone that are created based on the phone’s design. Sony XPERIA Tablet Z announced for Japan

The XPERIA Tablet Z which was rumoured to launch at CES 2013 has finally got officially announced for the Japanese market today. This sexy looking Android tablet is barely 6.9mm thick and weighs around 495 grams. It is also dustproof and waterproof to a certain extent. The display is 10.1 inches in size and features the Mobile Bravia Engine found on most Sony mobile products these days. The resolution on the display is an impressive 1920×1200 pixels.The design looks very similar to the XPERIA Z and ZL smartphones we saw at CES 2013. Opera Ice Mobile Browser shown off, coming to Android, iPhone and iPad in February

Opera Ice, upcoming mobile browser for Android, iPhone and iPad has been revealed in a new video demo. The beta version of the app was shown off last month in an internal Opera staff meeting that Pocket-lint managed to get. The Opera Ice uses WebKit browser engine used by Apple and Google, unlike the Opera’s Presto present in the Opera Mini and the Opera Mobile .
