Vodafone India has launched new, responsive M-Pesa App that lets their consumers pay their bills and recharge their mobile easily. User can load money to M-Pesa wallet through Net Banking/Debit Card through the app. The company also offers 5% cashback on payments made using the App (up to a maximum of Rs 50 per month). Airtel, Vodafone, RCOM and Videocon Telecom reduce National roaming tariffs

Airtel, Vodafone, Reliance Communications (RCOM) and Videocon Telecom have reduced national roaming charges soon after TRAI reduced ceiling tariffs for national roaming calls and SMS last month. This is applicable for pre-paid and post-paid subscribers. Some operators have also introduced special roaming plans. MWC: A week with Vodafone Eurotraveller

Just over a week ago we were in Barcelona for Mobile World Congress 2015 and, as I have done for many years now, I used my Vodafone SIM card with EuroTraveller to provide me data whilst on the ground. It’s been a year since we were last in MWC and in that time, Vodafone have introduced 4G Roaming in Spain alongside double speed 4G across their European network.

Traditionally Barcelona has really poor mobile data speeds (whether using a local SIM or roaming) during the MWC week as 90,000+ people descend upon the city for the annual conference. Ahead of the trip, I expected the traditional data coverage and speeds issues with previous years suggesting large ping times, really slow speeds and overall, a lack of reliable data. Following months of leaks and rumours, last week HTC unveiled its new HTC One M9 flagship during Mobile World Congress 2015 in Barcelona. Last year Opera introduced Sponsored Web Pass that lets operators team up with advertisers to sponsor mobile internet access for a limited time, free of cost. Few months back Opera and Idea Cellular teamed up with Quikr who sponsored for mobile data for Opera customers using Idea connection in India. Now Opera has teamed up with FreeCharge, an e-commerce player who has sponsored free data for Vodafone and Idea subscribers using Opera Mini web browser. Vodafone India has announced it has applied to the country’s central bank for a permit to operate a payments bank as the world’s largest network looks to bring basic banking service to its millions of Indian customers. Less than a week after EE revealed it offers 4G to 80% of the population, Vodafone UK CEO Jeroen Hoencamp defended the 4G rollout by saying they were focusing on reliability over speed. Vodafone offers free Wi-Fi in Delhi’s Khan Market area for its own and other users

Vodafone has announced that it has started offering free Wi-Fi connectivity in Delhi’s Khan Market area for both Vodafone and Non-Vodafone subscribers. This covers most frequented hotspots like ROUTE 04, SOY, Choko La, Big Chill, Pure Punjab, Chonas, Town Hall and Khan Chacha. Last year Airtel partnered with Google to launch Free Zone to access some Google Apps for free. I experienced a similar free WiFi service at Hyderabad Airport powered by Tata Docomo. UK networks pledge £5 billion to fix coverage issues

The UK Government have announced a major landmark deal with the four major mobile networks to improve mobile coverage in the UK. Under the terms of the deal, the four networks – Vodafone, Three, O2 and EE – have guaranteed to spend £5 billion together to offer guaranteed mobile coverage to 90% of premises across the UK by 2017.
