After signing agreements back in March last year, Vodafone India and Aditya Birla Group’s telecom arm Idea Cellular have announced that the merger has been completed. Idea Cellular has been renamed as ‘Vodafone Idea Limited’ and the service provider has subscriber base of over 408 million (as of June 2018) with 1 RMS in 9 circles, broadband network of 340,000 sites, and widest distribution reach with 1.7 million retail outlets. Yesterday OnePlus announced several launch offers for its upcoming OnePlus 6 flagship smartphone, including Rs. 2,000 cash back and device insurance for Idea subscribers. Today Idea Cellular has details the offers. In March last year Vodafone India and Idea Cellular announced merger of both the companies, which was expected to close last year. Earlier this week the companies said that the management team of the combined business would be confirmed prior to closing, which is now expected to complete in the first half of the current calendar year. Today they have announced the leadership team of the combined business, which will come into effect after the merger has been completed. To take on Reliance Jio, Airtel, Idea and Vodafone have revised two of its pre-paid plans offer more validity compared to what it previously offer. Reliance Jio revamped all its plans last week offering Rs. 50 discount on some of its plans and 50% more data in some packs.
