The international version of Samsung Galaxy S comes with a front facing camera in it, but the US variants of Galaxy S are missing the front facing camera, only EPIC 4G comes with a front facing camera, but Captivate, Vibrant, and Fascinate is missing it, which is a bad news for the Galaxy S lovers in USA. But a modder over at XDA-developers forum known as Siirial is very brave and smart, so he decided to put a FFC camera into his Samsung Vibrant, and he did it. Siirial is saying that the camera can be installed in any Galaxy S model, because they all comes with the same board. So folks, all you need is some tools, a denatured alcohol, front-facing camera which is only for $16.49, ROM, and the camera data file. If you are a little nervous, and it's hard for you to torn down your phone, then watch this video which will help you a lot. Folks, head over to xda-developer forum by following this link, and you will be able to read the full instructions. Happy Modding !

Sharp, a big player in the electronics industry, has created a 3D touchscreen LCD for mobile phones. The LCD would allow users to switch easily between 2D and 3D modes thereby eliminating loss of power through 3D when not required.
The LCD can be viewed in 3D without the need for 3D glasses thanks to the special technology. The technology used is called a parallax barrier system. It consists of a series of vertical slits, is incorporated into an ordinary LCD to control the path of light reaching the right and left eyes, thus creating a sense of depth. The new screen increases brightness and contrast compared to regular 3D touchscreens.
Sharp will launch this alongside their non 3D touchscreen LCD towards 2nd half of 2010.

Joe Hewitt, the brains behind the Facebook application for the Apple iPhone has quit further development of the application.
“Time for me to try something new. I’ve handed the Facebook iPhone app off to another engineer, and I’m onto a new project. My decision to stop iPhone development has had everything to do with Apple’s policies.” – Joe Hewitt
The Facebook application by Hewitt is the most popular application ever created for the platform. Thus this move will have a huge impact on the development of the application. The application will continue to develop but not at the excellent speed and quality as before.
Joe Hewitt is also known for his contribution towards the Mozilla Firefox Web browser.

RIM unveiled a new service platform for Blackberry developers which will enable the developers to build highly responsive, location-aware and revenue-generating applications for BlackBerry smartphones. This new services platform will offer advertising, payment, content push and new location services.
The Advertising Service will enable developers to integrate advertising into their BlackBerry applications, helping them generate revenue and simplifying the business of mobile advertising. The other services offered in this advertising category are ads compliant with the Mobile Marketing Association's (MMA) guidelines, real-time, detailed, consolidated reporting of advertising across ad networks, including ad impressions, clicks, conversions and earnings, as well as integration into the Omniture Online Marketing Suite for more advanced analytics.
The Payment Service will help developers to monetize applications by selling digital content such as premium, monthly or annual subscriptions, and additional levels or upgrades for games and other entertainment applications from within their applications.
The Push Service allows developers and content providers to deliver time-sensitive alerts and up to 8 KB of data to applications.
Also RIM will introduce three new location-based services for developers to build highly responsive, location-aware applications for BlackBerry smartphones. The three new location-based services include
