Amidst a sea of 5 inch phablets in the mid range category comes Xolo’s entry, the Q1000. Launched a while back, for a price of Rs. 14,999, the device has landed in our labs for testing. The 5 inch 720p screen has been a standard in most devices in this price range and they all come with very similar specs, so we went ahead and unboxed the Xolo Q1000 for you, with an unsuspecting view of the retail box contents and some initial thoughts on the device, watch the video –

Xolo X1000 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update coming this week

Xolo X1000 would get the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update this week, according to reports from NDTV Gadgets. Xolo launched the X1000, successor of the X900 back in March. Android Jelly Bean port for the Intel smartphones was ready back in September but the company released the phone running Android 4.0 at the launch. Xolo already promised at the launch that the phone would get the Jelly Bean update eventually.  The latest Xolo Smartphones, the Q700 and Q1000 powered by MediaTek chip comes with Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. Initially spotted online, the Xolo Q1000 has finally gone official, with a price tag of Rs. 14,999/- Powered by a Quad Core processor, the Xolo Q1000 has a 5 inch 1280×720 HD display, which seems to the be the benchmark of all the mid range phablet-like devices in the Indian market these days. The display is similar to the one on the Xolo A1000 launched earlier this year, and the 1.2 GHz Quad Core processor and GPU are similar to that of the Xolo Q800. Consistent with other recent Android phone releases from other brands, the Xolo Q1000 is also running on Android 4.2 Jellybean, with lockscreen widgets and notification toggles.

Xolo launched the Q700, the company’s latest Android smartphone in the QCORE series last week. Here we have the unboxing video of the device. The Xolo Q800 was the first phone in the QCORE series that was launched back in March. The Q1000, the company’s flagship smartphone went on sale recently. The specifications of the Q700 are mostly similar to the A700 that was launched last year. The A700 had a dual-core processor, but the Q700 is powered by a quad-core processor.

It has a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display at 295 PPI, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor withPowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a  8MP auto focus camera at the back with LED Flash and a BSI (Back Side Illumination) sensor for low-light imaging and a 1.2 MP front-facing camera. Xolo A800 gets the Android Jelly Bean update


Xolo has released the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the A800. The phone was released back in December last year running Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). Xolo has mentioned it as Android 4.2 on the Facebook page, but it’s actually Android 4.1.1, which comes pre-loaded on Xolo A1000 and the Q800. It would come with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display at 295 PPI similar to the A1000 that was launched earlier this year. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor with PowerVR SGX544 GPU and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Xolo X910 with 4.3-inch qHD display, 1.6 GHz Intel Medfield processor now available for Rs. 9999

Xolo X910 that surfaced online recently is now available from online retailer Snapdeal. It comes with a 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display with 256 ppi pixel density, powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor Intel Atom Z2460 processor with 400 MHz PowerVR SGX 540GPU and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). It has a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and a 0.3-megapixel (VGA) front-facing camera. Both the Flipkart and Snapdeal mentions that the phone would come with dual SIM support. This is the second Intel Atom-powered phone to come with dual SIM support, after the Xolo X500 that was launched earlier this year. Xolo is all set to release the X910, the company’s new smartphone powered by an Intel Atom processor . The phone has appeared on Flipkart with complete specs and images. It would have a 4.3-inch (960 x 540 pixels) capacitive touch screen display with 256 ppi pixel density, powered by a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom processor with 400 MHz GPU and run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) similar to the other Xolo devices powered by a Intel Atom processor.  No details about the exact model of Intel chip yet, but it is likely to come with a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Z2460 processor similar to the X900. It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3 (MP) VGA front-facing camera. It comes with dual SIM support with dual standby and packs a 2400 mAh battery. Xolo launched the Q800, the company’s first phone with a quad-core processor back in March. The Xolo Q700 would be next phone in the Q-Core series. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) 16M color capacitive touch screen IPS display based on one-glass solution (OGS) technology that would reduce the phone’s thickness. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589W-M processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5MP rear camera with LED Flash, BSI sensor and 720p HD video recording and a 0.3 (MP) VGA front-facing camera. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to other Xolo smartphones. It packs a 2400 mAh battery, larger than the Q800.
