Xiaomi’s Redmi brand has launched Redmi 9, the company’s latest budget Redmi smartphone in India, as it had promised. It packs a 6.53-inch HD+ HD+ 20:9 Dot Drop screen, is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 with 4GB of RAM, runs Android 10 with MIUI 12 out of the box, features a 13-megapixel rear camera and a secondary 2-megapixel depth sensor. Mi TV Horizon Edition launching in India on September 7

Xiaomi is in a launch spree lately and today, the company has started teasing the launch of a new television in India — Mi TV Horizon Edition. Redmi 6 Pro MIUI 12 Global Stable Update starts rolling out in India [Download Link]

Xiaomi launched the Redmi 6 Pro in India back in 2018 running MIUI 10 on top of Android 8.1 (Oreo). In mid-2019, the smartphone received Android 10 based MIUI 10.3 update bringing Dual VoLTE, system-wide dark mode, face unlock support for app lock, and others. The company had also rolled out MIUI 11 Global Stable update for the smartphone towards the end of 2019 bringing several new features such as Quick Replies, Mi Share, Floating Calculator, Steps Trackers, and more.

Redmi 9 with Dot Drop display, dual rear cameras launching in India on August 27

Update: August 20, 2020: Redmi today confirmed that it will launch the Redmi 9 smartphone in India on August 27th, and the phone will be sold on Amazon.in, in addition to mi.com. Xiaomi Precision Screwdriver Kit goes on open sale in India for Rs. 1299

Xiaomi opened crowdfunding for its new Precision Screwdriver Kit in India back in May and started shipping them to backers last month. Today it has started open sale of the kit. Xiaomi and POCO phones in India to get an update to remove Mi Browser / Mint Browser

Redmi G gaming laptop to be announced on August 14

Xiaomi’s Redmi brand today confirmed that it will introduce new Redmi G gaming laptop in China on August 14th. This comes after the RedmiBook 16 powered by Ryzen 4000 series processors were introduced back in May, and the new model is said to be powered by new Intel Core i5-10200H or it could be i5-10300H. Xiaomi introduces Mi 100W Car Charger 1A1C with Dual USB ports

Along with the Mi 10 Ultra, Xiaomi has also introduced 100W Car Charger 1A1C that can charge the phone up to 100% in 25 minutes. In addition to 100W USB Type-C port, it also has a 18W USB Type-A port, and offers 50W USB Type-C + 18W USB Type-A fast charging when two devices are connected simultaneously. It features a 55-inch edge-to-edge transparent 4K OLED 10-bit panel with 1.07 billion color combinations, 120Hz refresh rate, 120Hz MEMC technology and 1ms fast response rate for gaming. Redmi Note 9 gets MIUI 12 Global Stable Update in India [Download Link]

Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 9 in the country last month. To recall, the device features a 6.53-inch Full HD+ LCD, is powered MediaTek Helio G85 12nm SoC with up to 6GB of RAM, and runs Android 10 based MIUI 11. Xiaomi has already unveiled the latest iteration of its proprietary Android skin MIUI, dubbed MIUI 12 Global back in May, though the company is yet to formally announce MIUI 12 for India.

Get Android 10 on Redmi Note 7 Pro with OxygenOS port

Xiaomi launched the Redmi Note 7 Pro smartphone in India back in February last year running MIUI 10.2 Global Stable on top of Android 9.0 (Pie). The smartphone has already started receiving Android 10 update along with MIUI 12 in India, but limited to Pilot testers only for now. Redmi Note series devices usually have a great custom ROM development, and Redmi Note 7 series is no exception to the family.

Oxygen OS is amongst popular Android skin that offers smooth experience along with a decent amount of customizations without much bloatware. A couple of months ago, we had tried Android 10 based Oxygen OS ported ROM on our Redmi Note 7  (lavender). Recently developers ported Android 10 based Oxygen OS to Redmi Note 7 Pro (Violet), we tried it on our unit and here is our review of the same.
