It is known that Sony Ericsson was at one time considering Windows Phone as a platform of choice for its smartphone division. However in 2011 , SE decided to go all in on Android. Now with relaunch of the smartphone division under the Sony moniker , it seems that the company might be rethinking its decision.
NokiaWP has outed two images of what appears to be a Sony Ericsson branded WP7 smartphone. Looking at the thickness of the handset and previous rumors , the phone might be packing in a side sliding qwerty keyboard. With Sony's prowess in the imaging and display segments and their legacy of producing great hardware designs , it will be interesting to see them enter the WP segment and give tough competition to Nokia.

Now ITProPortal is claiming they have some exclusive images and benchmarks of this device which will leave us speechless.
According to the benchmarks and tests performed by their source Xperia HD definitely has a 720 x 1280 HD display which is a similar to the Galaxy Nexus. Besides the high resolution display it is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 chipset which is a dual core asynchronous chip clocked at 1.5 GHz, now that is some raw power right there. The same processor is on board the HTC Evo 3D but clocked at different frequency. The one good thing about having an asynchronous architecture is that it saves a lot of battery and once it is upgraded to ICS, the device will be much more responsive and less battery consuming.
They have also said that Xperia HD will not be having a MicroSD card slot and will support on MicroSIM cards like the iPhone 4 and the 4S. The device also has a 12 MP camera which is ...

Sony Ericsson has launched a barometric sensor app for the Xperia active and also a new code example so that developers can access this sensor in apps by accessing it through the Android sensor API. This app would let the Xperia Active users measure altitude differences and vertical speed. They already provided instructions and codes on how to create a simple app that could read data from the pressure sensor.
The Barometer can also use GPS satellite-based positioning capabilities to get a better location fix while using a map on the ground when you’re mountain climbing, paragliding, etc. Sony Ericsson Xperia Active users can download the app along with the sample code from the Sony Ericsson developer's site.

Now Sony Ericsson may not be the foremost makers of Android phones, nonetheless they release exceptionally trendy devices. The blogosphere have been talking about Nozomi from a couple of days previously, and now some guys got their hands on the snaps of the manufacturer’s forthcoming Sony Ericsson flagship device and its specs too. This device is code named Sony Ericsson LT26i.
The gadget blueprint has an uncomplicated shape which gives it a smart glance that also hints us of Motorola implements, actually it pretty much looks like the Droic X. Nozomi is also supposed not to encompass a microSD card opening, so stretching the memory will not be an option. Now there is still no word about the release date, however, one can anticipate seeing this in January, at the CES or Mobile World Congress in Feb. But coming back to no SD cards is Sony Ericsson planning to go the Apple way? Will they be excluding the feature of SD card slots on all their devices next year? I don't think this is the right move though. Also it is finally good to see a 1.5 GHz dual core processor with the Adreno 220 GPU, which makes it a powerful device though I ...

Yes, you read the title right. The phone is indeed called Sony XPERIA LT22 ( codenamed Nyphon). The phone in the leaked picture above might be the first re-branded XPERIA phone.
News about a complete takeover of Sony over from Ericsson had been rumored several times over the years. But in October this year, Sony purchased 50% of the share in Sony Ericsson which is basically the share that was owned by Ericsson.
As a result the company would encounter an image and branding makeover. The company would now be known as Sony rather than Sony Ericsson. The re-branding was rumored to be done by June 2012 but we can be sure that it'll take place before 2012 end.
The Sony XPERIA Nyphon is one of the first XPERIA handsets since the re-branding. The Nyphon seems to retain most of the styling aspects from its predecessors. It looks like a mixture of both the XPERIA X10 and the Vivaz models.
The specifications of the device are:
	1GHz Dual-Core U8500 Processor from ST-Ericsson
	8 Megapixel Exmor R Camera
1GB RAM, 16GB Built in Memory
Android 2.3 Gingerbread (Upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0 Later on)

New image of Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD ( Previously known as Nozomi LT26i) has surfaced in Hong Kong which is reportedly going through carrier testing. The phone has Sony Ericsson brand name on the top and has a new Xperia UI. There is a front-facing camera on the top-right and there are 3 capacitive touch buttons for back, home and menu. Xperia Blog got hold of a rendered image last week and the device resembles the image.
It is expected to sport a 4.3-inch (720 x 1280 pixels) display and run 1.5GHz dual-core processor. It might come with 12MP camera with Sony's Exmor R technology, 1GB RAM, 32GB ROM and a sealed 1750mAh battery. It is not clear which version of Android it would run, however it would get the Android 4.0 update eventually if it runs on Android 2.3 initially. The phone is expected to launch at CES 2012 similar to the Xperia Arc.

Football fans always seems to know best, or at least that's what I feel whenever I find myself in a company of one. And I am sure there are a couple of football fans here. Well, don't you ever wished you could control your own real life footballers? Sony Ericsson and Umbro thought they could. They teamed up together to create a live football game called the Kasabian Football Gaming Live.
Check out the video below where Tom from the pop band Kasabian and England striker Darren Bent battles it out via their very own footballer minions, from the comfort of their Sony Ericsson Xperia Play phones. I can only imagine a certain rich Russian oligarchs in London will be hoping to equip this on his team next.

They have not locked the boot loader and have even made big promises regarding future firmware updates. In fact the XPERIA Arc has received so many updates it would be difficult to imagine that this was the same company that made the much criticised XPERIA X10. The XPERIA Ray is exactly like the Arc. Well not exactly - the XPERIA Ray is actually better than the Arc is several respects. It does have a front camera for video calling, and the smaller screen has a ...

For quite a while it had been rumored that Sony Ericsson is getting ready to use the Windows Phone platform for its mobile phones.
However, in a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg put rest to the rumors by stating that Windows Phone isn't as good as the Android platform which they're already using.
Bert Nordberg - "At this point I wouldn’t feel comfortable investing in a platform that isn’t as good as the one that we currently use. Therefore we have remained with Android, but I am quite curious about Windows Phone."
In October 2010, Nordberg had said that Sony Ericsson would look to use Windows Phone for their devices in 2011 and the appearance of a few Sony Ericsson Windows Phone prototypes only ignited the rumors.
He said that 70% of Sony Ericsson sales are from smartphones and their goal is to become solely a smartphone company by mid-2012. He mentioned that they should have taken Apple more seriously and that they no longer are competing with Nokia since theyre mainly concentrating with the smartphone market.
