Samsung started changing its track from polycarbonate build, changed its usual design language and finally launched the Galaxy Alpha smartphone with metal chassis, but it still had a plastic back panel. It finally came up with the A series at the end of last year with all metal unibody design The Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 were launched in India last month. The Galaxy A5 is the top-end model in the A series that is currently available in India. Samsung even introduced the Galaxy A7 with a larger 1080p display, but it is not available in India yet. Samsung’s Q4 2014 profits down 27%, mobile revenue down 21% YoY

Samsung has reported its earnings for Q4 2014, in which the company has managed to make operating profit of 5.29 trillion won ($4.9 billion) for the quarter ended September 30, 2014, down 27% from 8.31 trillion won compared to the same quarter last year. It has reported net profit of 5.35 trillion won ($4.9 billion) on revenues of 52.73 trillion won ($48.6 billion), down 10% compared to the same quarter last year, up 11% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ). Samsung Galaxy J1 (SM-J100H), the company’s latest entry-level smartphone in its new J series has gone official in Malaysia. It has a 4.3-inch WVGA display, is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (Kitkat). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Just in time for Valentines’ day (if you’re looking for a present idea), Samsung have announced that the Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 smartphones will be available to buy in UK stores on Thursday 12th February. Both devices will be available to buy from selected high street retailers and networks including Carphone Warehouse, EE and O2 and will also be available to try out and pre-order from Samsung Experience Stores from 28th January. Samsung invests Rs. 517 crores for the expansion of Noida mobile phone plant

Samsung India today announced that it has invested INR. 517 crores for the expansion of the Noida plant under the UP Mega Policy. The plan was inaugurated by Akhilesh Yadav, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh in Lucknow today. Samsung’s latest Z1 Tizen smartphone will also be manufactured at the Noida facility with most of the phone’s software being developed at the Noida Research Centre, it said.
