Reliance Digital, the electronics arm of Reliance Retail has launched Reconnect (RPSPE4701) smartphone. It has a 4.7-inch HD screen, powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has Dual SIM support with dual standby. Reliance launches new international roaming packs

Reliance Communications (RCom) has launched two new International Roaming Pack – Unique UK and Fabulous Five for its post-paid GSM customers. The Unique UK would offer up to 96% dicount on data usage and up to 82% on outgoing voice calls to India while roaming in the U.K. The pack costs Rs. 849 for one month. You pay Rs. 25 local outgoing calls/min, call back to India and for 1 MB of data usage while roaming in the UK. Incoming calls are charged at Rs. 15/min and outgoing SMS charges cost Rs. 10 each. Reliance Jio to offer voice services along with data using 4G

Reliance Jio ties up with Viom Networks to share telecom tower infrastructure

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has entered into a pan-India tower infrastructure sharing agreement with Viom Networks, a joint venture of Tata Teleservices and SREI Infrastructure to use the latter’s telecom infrastructure with a footprint of over 42,000 telecom towers for their 4G roll out. Viom Networks is India’s largest independent telecommunications infrastructure company. Reliance Jio, Bharti Infratel tie up to share telecom infrastructure

Reliance Jio Infocomm, a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Bharti Infratel has officially announced their partnership. Under the agreement, Reliance Jio would utilize the telecom tower infrastructure of Bharti Infratel to launch its services across the country, says the company. Reliance Jio reportedly signs Rs. 7500 crore deal with Samsung for BTS infrastructure

Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited has signed a deal with the South Korean giant Samsung to supply active BTS infrastructure for 4G, according to a report from DNA. Samsung would venture into base transceiver station (BTS) space for the first time and would supply BTS that facilitates wireless communication between user equipment and the network. Reliance Jio gets unified telecom license across India


Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited (RJIL), a subsidiary of Reliance Industries Limited has announced that it has received unified License for all 22 Service Areas across India. This would allow RJIL to offer all telecom services including voice telephony under a single license. It is the only pan India operator with Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum across 22 circles capable of offering fourth generation (4G) wireless services. Reliance cuts 3G data rates, offers 1GB of 3G data at Rs. 123

Reliance Communications (RCom) has reduced the 3G rates by half for both the pre-paid and post-paid customers. Now 1GB of 3G data costs Rs. 123. The 2GB and 4GB 3G packs now cost Rs 246 and Rs 492 respectively. All these come with 30 days validity. The new rates are applicable in all the 13 circles across India. Recently Vodafone, Airtel, Idea and Videocon reduced 2G data rates. Reliance launches Re.1 mobile video downloads

Reliance has launched the Re.1 instant video downloads for their customers followed by Airtel and Aircel. Airtel launched Re. 1 mobile video download service back in May. Aircel partnered with Techzone to launch a service called  Video Store @ Re. 1 to download download more than 20,000+ videos across more than 12 languages. The Reliance Video Store lets you download latest trailers, songs, sports and more. Reliance to offer iPhone 5 in India, announces bundled 3G data plans

Reliance Communications (RCom) has announced that they would sell the Apple iPhone 5 from today through their stores. Reliance has also announced bundled plans starting at a Rs. 304 that would offer both free minutes and 3G data. The Rs. 304 plan offers 100 minutes of voice calls and 2GB of free 3G data per month. Both Airtel and Aircel started selling the iPhone 5 in India last November with data plans. Reliance doesn’t offer free SMS in the plan. The iPhone 5 is priced at Rs.45,500 for the 16GB, Rs.52,500 for the 32GB and Rs. 59,500 for the 64GB versions which is the same as the launch price. This would let Reliance Jio Infocomm utilize up to 45,000 ground and rooftop based towers across RCOM’s nationwide network for its 4G roll out. Bharti and Reliance Jio sign agreement for international data connectivity

Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel today announced that they have a signed an Indefeasible Right to Use (IRU) agreement that will let Reliance use Bharti’s i2i submarine cable connecting India and Singapore. The cable consists of eight fibre pairs and uses Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) to provide bandwidth ranging in multiple terabits.

Reliance partners with Lenovo to launch co-branded Android Smartphones

Reliance Communications (RCOM) has announced a partnership with Lenovo, popular Chinese hardware manufacturer to launch range of Android smartphones in India. The smart phones would be available across different screen sizes, come with a 1 GHz dual-core processor, and work on CDMA and GSM network simultaneously using Reliance’s Dual Core network to switch calls between the two networks automatically based on the strength and quality of RF signals.
