Nokia has launched it's Ovi Application Store on Reliance's Network with operator billing. This is the first time Ovi Store is getting such a payment option in India.

Reliance Communications, one of India’s largest telecom service provider has launched a Missed Call Alert Service with some enhanced features and they call it - MCA 2.0 with Notify Me.
Reliance Communication, Head of VAS- Anil Pande said,

How does this work?
Reliance Customers will receive missed call alert as at present – which tells a subscriber if they have missed a call due to their phone being either out of coverage area, battery exhaustion, phone is busy or switched off. In addition, ‘Notify Me’ alerts the callers, whose attempt to ring someone have failed, that the called number is now available to receive a call from them.
How to activate this service?

Reliance communication is one among the few cellular service provider in the country providing services in both GSM and CDMA platform. Well, with the attractive tariffs that Reliance recently came up with, its no wonder that Reliance gained the reputation of being the 2nd largest service provider of the country. Another interesting fact is, Reliance is the 4th largest player in the world having more than 100 million customers.
Syed Safawi, CEO – Wireless Business, Reliance Communications said:
We are delighted and humbled and thank our 100 million wireless customers who helped us cross this landmark in such a short span of time. We also owe this achievement to our trade partners who have bestowed confidence in the Reliance Mobile brand. We shall strive to offer our CDMA and GSM services in new geographies and make it the most technologically superior service in India.
Reliance’s BIG 92.7 FM has partnered with India’s largest telecom VAS provider – OnMobile Global Ltd. to roll its BIG FM for mobile users even without FM receiver on their mobile. It literally means, you can now listen to FM channels on the go without having to worry about carrying a FM enabled device or getting FM signals.
Once the service is being rolled out with an Indian mobile service provider, all you will need to hear FM channels is a simple mobile with capabilities to receive and make calls. Though there were already similar service to listen music on your mobile phone, but its a one of its kind concept that will let you hear a complete FM channel on your mobile phone. Sounds interesting, isn’t it?
While in a press conference, Mr. Rabe. T. Iyer, Business Head, Allied Businesses, Reliance Media World Ltd. said,

"The service will cover 460 towns, 11,741 villages and a number of national, state and other highways, tourist and religious places throughout the state," Reliance regional hub head Arvind Kumar told reporters at the launch.
The Punjab circle GSM market is dominated by telecom majors Airtel and Idea (till recently Spice) and the entry of Reliance is likely to make the competition even more keen.

"The difference we are offering over earlier service providers is the superior quality of service which customers will acknowledge through the customer experience programme," Kumar said.
The plan offers talk time worth Rs.900 on local calls and SMS to any network. Each subscriber will be given free talk time worth Rs.10 everyday for 90 days, Kumar said.

Reliance seems to be singing the Blogging song with their latest Reliance Mobile Blog Ad on TV screens across India.
Reliance Mobile Blog is the latest addition to the features of their mobile offerings. The classical song which plays is " You got the whole world in your hands ". With mobile penetration sky rocketing in India this new feature seems to be mainly targetted at Youth. The AD shows a pretty young girl who encourages users to share your dairy on reliance mobile world. The advert seems impressive and well taken. It seems like the AD is taken in Singapore. I checked out the Official Site and found that users are uploading mainly images and videos. So this might well be termed as Multimedia Mobile Blogging . But my worry is that since such a service is data intensive, how much time will it take for me to upload an image/video etc. I badly want to get my hands on a reliance phone and try out this service.

Reliance has launched mobile blogging for its customers. RCL has partnered with the Hyderabad-based mobile content solutions company IMI Mobile for moblogging. The service is priced at Rs 5 per MMS/SMS for posting a blog. The blogs are hosted on www.relianceinfo.com/mblog. In any case, it will take a while for moblogging to become a mass application.
