OnePlus released its first OxygenOS Open Beta 1 based on Android 8.0 (Oreo) at the end of last month. This week it has released the second Beta update for the phone that brings fixes for several launcher issues, Camera UI improvements, improvements in reading mode, vibration, Bluetooth audio and several fixes. OnePlus introduced the OnePlus 5T Star Wars Limited Edition smartphone at the Comic Con India in Bengaluru earlier this month, as promised it has launched the smartphone in the country at an event in Mumbai. The phone comes with white colored back with smooth Sandstone finish, Star Wars branding on the back, black colored power button and volume rockers and comes with Mineral Red colored alert slider on the left.  It also comes with a Kylo Ren case in the box and comes in a special box. OnePlus 5 and 5T are a great value for money phones currently in the market with no close competition. However, all is not that good with the phones as they lack the ability to play HD content from sources like Netflix, Amazon, Google Play Movies, etc. This is due to the lack of support for the correct DRM level for HD playback. OnePlus has released new Oreo-based open betas (Beta 19 for OnePlus 3T and Beta 28 for OnePlus 3) that brings several new features including support for aptX/aptX HD, better shortcut menu, photo map in Gallery to view photos by location, emergency information (ICE) in Contacts to add your personal information and more along with several optimizations and bug fixes.

OnePlus launched its flagship OnePlus 5T smartphone earlier this month, which went on early sale in India on November 21st. Today the smartphone went on open sale in the country on Amazon.inoneplusstore.in, select Croma stores and OnePlus Experience zones in Bangalore and Noida at a price of Rs. 32,999 for the 6GB RAM with 64GB storage and Rs. 37,999 for the 8GB RAM with 128GB version.

OnePlus confirms Android 8.1 Oreo for 3, 3T, 5 and 5T, but no Project Treble

Project Treble is something that Google is very ambitiously working on in order to make Android updates faster and consistent. This feature was launched as a feature of Android Oreo, and later that makes OTAs modular.
