The Micromax A110 Superfone Canvas 2 was the phone that kickstarted a new range of big screened smartphones from Micromax, and after the success of the Canvas HD, Micromax seems ready for yet another device, called the “Canvas 4”. Micromax launched the A88 Canvas Music, the first Music Phone in the Canvas series last month. It has a 4.5-inch  (854 x 480 pixels) display and run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It is powered by a 1 Ghz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor based on ARM Cortex A9 with PowerVR SGX531 GPU. Here are the benchmarks of the device compared to other Android smartphones.

Micromax A116 Canvas HD gets the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update

Micromax A116 Canvas HD has received the Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) update as the company promised. The A116 Canvas HD was launched with Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean). Micromax launched the A110Q Canvas Plus last month that runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) out of the box. The Micromax A110 Canvas 2 got the Android 4.1 update back in March. The Micromax A116 update would also be available from the Micromax Service Centers where the users can take their devices to get it flashed to Android 4.2 without any cost. Micromax A110Q Canvas 2 Plus, successor of the A110 Canvas 2 has surfaced on the official Micromax website. It has a 5-inch (480 x 854 pixels) TFT capacitive touch screen IPS display similar to the A110 Canvas 2, but this runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean) as rumored and powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor. Other feaures are similar to the A116 including a 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. There were rumors about the Micromax A110Q for the past week few week, now the first screenshot of the phone’s about page has leaked by an anonymous tipster to the MMXNewscaster. It reveals that the phone would run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). Build number and custom build version matches the build.prop file from the installer package that leaked recently.  This doesn’t reveal much details other than these details. Micromax has launched the A88 Canvas Music, the company’s latest smartphone in the Canvas portfolio. It has a 4.5-inch  (854 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core processor and run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. The phone was showcased at the Micromax MTV Video Music Awards in Mumbai last month. MLive app in the phone lets you download over 4 lakh songs.

It comes with a 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 2MP front-facing camera. It comes with a Stylus, pre-loaded Evernote app and a free flip cover. Micromax A115 Canvas 3D that leaked earlier this month has gone official. It has a 5-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display, powered by a 1 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT6577 processor and runs on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, similar to the A116 Canvas HD. It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 0.3MP (VGA) front-facing camera. This is the first 3D smartphone from Micromax that doesn’t require 3D glasses to watch 3D content. Micromax Canvas series smartphone sales surpass 1 million units

Micromax has announced that the company has sold over 1 million units of their flagship Canvas series of smartphones. Micromax launched the A100 Superfone Canvas back in August 2012, and the launched it’s successor, the A110 Canvas 2 back in November last year. The company unveiled the A116 Canvas HD with a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor back in January, which was the most successful device in the Canvas series. Micromax unveiled the A116 Canvas HD, the company’s latest flagship back in January. Images of the A115 Canvas 3D surfaced earlier this month, now images of the another smartphone in the Canvas series, the Micromax A111 has appeared online. According to MMXNewscaster, the phone would feature a 5.3-inch qHD (960 x 540 pixels) display with 5 point multi-touch that would also let you operate the phone with gloves. The phone would be powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8225Q processor and run on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It would come with a 8MP rear camera with dual LED Flash and a 1.2MP front-facing camera. It would also have a 3D Graphics Accelerator. Looks like Micromax is on a roll. The Micromax Funbook Talk P360 and the Micromax Funbook Talk P362 tablets went on sale online last week, now a new 7-inch Funbook tablet, the Funbook 3G P560 is on sale from online retailer Saholic.  Most of the features are similar to the Micromax Funbook 3G P600 that went on sale back in February. It has a 7-inch capacitive touch screen display and runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), but this one is powered by a 1 GHz single-core Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM7227A processor, instead of 1 GHz dual-core Snapdragon MSM8225A processor in the P600. It’s been less than a month since the Micromax A51 Blot was spotted on the official Micromax website. It is finally on sale from online retailers Saholic and Snapdeal. It has a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) display,  powered by a 832 MHz Broadcom processor and runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS. It packs a 2 MP rear camera and a 0.3 MP front-facing camera similar to the A35. Micromax launched the A35 Bolt, the company’s first Android smartphone in the Bolt series back in February.
