Micromax has announced that they have singed up Hollywood star Hugh Jackman as its brand ambassador. Micromax has also teased their upcoming smartphone, the Canvas Turbo in a video, which would be launched soon. He will also be seen endorsing Canvas series of smartphones for Micromax. The Micromax Canvas Turbo is rumored to pack a 1080p full HD display and powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core processor. Micromax Bolt A58, new budget smartphone in the Bolt series is now available from online retailer Saholic. It surfaced on the official website last week and packs a 3.5-inch (320 x 480 pixels) display, powered by a 1GHz dual-core MediaTek 6572M processor and runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). It packs a 2 MP rear camera without flash and 3G support. It also has dual SIM support with dual standby similar to most of the Micromax smartphones.  The Bolt A40 and the Bolt A67 went on sale recently. Micromax launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series last month. We brought you the unboxing last week, here we have the complete review of the tablet. This is one of the first Android tablet to feature a 4:3 display. This is also the first tablet from Micromax to pack a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8389 processor. Micromax launched the Canvas 4 A210 and the Canvas Doodle 2 A240 recently with a 720p display. Now the twitter user MMXNewscaster has posted the boot animation screenshot that reveals that the name of the phone would be Canvas Turbo and the model number is A250. DroidExtra has got hold of the ROM of the device which reveals that the phone would feature a full HD display at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, but the display size is unknown. Micromax Canvas Tab P650 Benchmarks

Micromax launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series last month. We brought you the unboxing of the device earlier this week. Here we have the benchmarks of the tablet. It has a 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels)  4:3 display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8389 Cortex A7 processor with PowerVR SGX544 MP2 GPU and runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). The Xolo tab that was also released last month had a similar 8-inch display, but it is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 200 (MSM8225Q) processor. We don’t have the Xolo Tab yet to compare it with the Canvas Tab, let’s find out how it performs with other Android tablets in various synthetic benchmark tests.

Micromax to preload BBM on all its Canvas Smartphones

BlackBerry messenger, one of the most popular instant messaging services, had announced its arrival on iOS and Android platforms earlier, but it looks like manufacturers are already warming up to the concept of pre-loading it on their devices. Micromax is the one of the first manufacturers to announce that it will pre-load BBM on all of its Canvas Smartphones starting from the first week of October. But of course existing users too, can download the BBM app through the play store, irrespective of the device they own.

Micromax has launched the Canvas Tab P650, the company’s first tablet in the Canvas series. It has a 8-inch (1024 x 768 pixels) multi-touch display, powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor and runs on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean). It has a 5-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video recording and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has 3G support via a SIM card slot and has voice calling capabilities.

It comes pre-loaded with Opera mini browser,  Spuul to watch free movies online, Music Hub to get access to songs online and M! Live  to download HD/premium games. The M! Security app lets you Back-Up the phone Tracke the tab remotely and Anti-Virus features. It also comes with Look away to pause, Video pinning, pop-up browser and OTA update support similar to the latest Canvas smartphones. This tab would compete with the recently launched Xolo Tab.

So far all the flagship smartphones had a 5-inch starting from the Micromax Canvas A100. Even the Micromax Canvas 4 that we reviewed recently had a 5-inch HD display. Micromax launched the Canvas Doodle 2 A240 recently with a 5.7-inch HD display at a price tag of Rs. 19,990. We reviewed the first A111 Canvas Doodle last month, which was launched back in May. Even though the Doodle comes under the Canvas series, it was not the company’s flagship phone. The Canvas Doodle 2 costs twice as much as the first Doodle. Micromax launched the Canvas Doodle 2 A240, the company’s latest flagship smartphone last month. We unboxed the device recently, here we have the benchmarks of the device.  It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek 6589 processor with PowerVR SGX544 MP2 GPU similar to the A116 Canvas HD and the Canvas 4 A210 . It comes with a  5.7-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display at 257 PPI pixel density. It runs on Android 4.2.1 (Jelly Bean). Let’s see how the phone performs in range of synthetic benchmark tests.
