At the earning call LG confirmed that it would launch the LG G3, the company’s latest premium smartphone in the second quarter of this year. The company has started sending out invites for the launch event on May 27th in San Francisco, New York and London simultaneously and the launch event in Seoul, Singapore, and Istanbul is scheduled for May 28th, reports The Verge and the Engadget. LG G Pro 2 might launch in India for Rs. 49900

LG unveiled the G Pro 2, the company’s latest phablet back in February ahead of MWC 2014 and it started rolling out in Asia starting from last month. Now Manish Khatri from Mahesh Telecom reports that the G Pro 2 (LG D838) would be priced at Rs. 49,900 (MOP) in India and the MRP would be Rs. 51,500. LG reports Q1 2014 earnings, ships 12.3 million smartphones, confirms G3 launch for Q2

LG Electronics has announced their earnings for Q1 2014, in which it has reported net profit of 92.60 billion Won (US$ 86.62 million) with operating profits of 504 billion Won (US$ 471.47 million). Mobile communications sector earned revenues of 3.41 trillion Korean Won (US$ 3.1 billion), a 6% increase YoY, but sales decreased by 5% QoQ. Operating profit increased due to the launch of G Pro 2 in the domestic market and more efficient marketing spending, LG said.

LG G3 shows up in first live image, reveals rear-mounted buttons

Specifications of the LG G3 had leaked several times, but we did not see a render of the G3 yet. GSMArena has got hold of a live image of the upcoming LG flagship that reveals the rear-mounted power button and the volume rocker. The design of these keys are a bit different from the LG G2, G2 mini or other latest G series devices. It also has a new sensor next to the camera, which could be the rumored fingerprint sensor. LG unveiled the L Series III lineup that includes L40, L70 and L90 at the MWC 2014 back in February and the LG L65 Dual was officially launched in Russia earlier this month, couples of months after the phone was unveiled at the MWC. Looks like the L Series III line-up doesn’t stop. A Russian website Hi-Tech.Mail.Ru has got hold of the press images and the specifications of the upcoming LG L80 Dual smartphone that is expected to go on sale in Russia soon. Nimbuzz teams up with LG to pre-install app on devices, offers free ISD calls

Nimbuzz entered into a partnership with LG Mobiles to provide 100 minutes of free international calls to any number in the US. In addition to this, the Nimbuzz app will be pre-installed on LG devices. For starters, the instant messaging cross platform app will be available on L–Series III smartphones, before expanding to other devices.

Leaked LG G3 screenshots reveal beautiful new flat design in QHD resolution

Flat design is the current trend in a smartphone user interface and the movement has been going on for a while. Windows Phone, Android 4.0 ICS and more recently, Apple’s iOS 7 all have embraced flat design to different levels, and it looks like OEMs are finally catching up with their own take on a flat UI. Following Samsung’s latest Touchwiz release, leaked screenshots from a LG G3 reveal a similar direction in which the company is going flat on design and, interestingly, in Quad HD resolution(2560×1440) which confirms what we had heard about the G3 earlier. The icons have lost their gradients and thin lines have taken over gaudy colours, making the new LG UI look much more beautiful to look at, than before.

It also has a dedicated webpage that reveals that the G Watch would be dust and water resistant and reveals that it will have an always-on display, unlike the Samsung Gear 2. The Stealth Black version of the LG G Watch was unveiled last month as the company’s first Android Wear-powered Smartwatch. Since the LG G3 for AT&T is mentioned as B3 in the leaked internal documents, the B3 mini with the model number D725 would be G3 mini, according to mylgphones. LG India promotes Knock Code feature with new contest

LG introduced the dual SIM variants of the L90 and L70 smartphones in India recently. This has Knock Code feature that was first introduced on the G Pro 2. All the latest F Series, L Series III smartphone and the LG G2 mini has the Kock Code feature and LG has also promised to bring the feature to LG G2 and G Flex users through a software update. LG G3 (LS990) UA Profile shows up, reveals 5.5-inch Quad HD display, 3GB RAM and more

Alleged screenshot of LG G3 leaked recently that showed off a flat Android UI. Now UA Profile of the LG LS990 for Sprint has surfaced on the official sprint website. Since the LG G2 for Sprint has a model number LS980, this smartphone is expected to be the upcoming LG G3. According the UA Profile, this smartphone would come with a 5.5-inch Quad HD (QHD) display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels that was announced last year, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8974 processor (could be Snapdragon 800 or 801 SoC).
