Intel today introduced its 8th Gen Intel Core processor family that promises more than 40 percent performance boost compared to 7th Gen while multitasking and up to 2.3x faster while multitasking versus a 5-year-old system. It has introduced four new Kaby Lake i7 and i5 U-series CUPs – i7-8650U, i7-8550U, i5-8350U and i5-8250U that are built on the same 14nm+ processor from 15W to power 2 in 1s and ultrathin notebooks for consumer and small business.

Intel to build fleet of over 100 self-driving cars and start testing them this year

Back in May at the Computex 2017 Intel introduced Core X-series processor family ranging from 4 to 18 cores that includes Core i9 Extreme Edition processor, the company’s first consumer desktop CPU with 18 cores and 36 threads of power. At that time it did not unveil the specifications and availability of top-end processors, including the high-end i9-7980XE, even though the we already know the it will cost $1999 (Rs. 1,27,320 approx.). Intel accuses Qualcomm’s anti-competitive actions for mobile chips

Intel has accused Qualcomm of creating a monopoly for itself and not licensing “standard-essential” patents at a fair rate as required by law. The statement, filed with the US International Trade Commission (ITC) comes in response to Qualcomm’s suit against Apple alleging that the iPhone maker was infringing on six patents that aided iPhone battery life. Intel and Samsung file amicus brief to support FTC lawsuit against Qualcomm

Earlier in January this year US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a lawsuit against Qualcomm for anti-competitive practices. Now, Intel and Samsung have filed amicus briefs with the court supporting the FTC’s lawsuit and opposing Qualcomm’s request to dismiss the case. Both the companies claim that Qualcomm uses its dominant position in the mobile processor industry to keep other players out.
