HUAWEI Nova 5i with 6.4-inch FHD+ display, 8GB RAM, 24MP in-screen camera, quad rear cameras announced

Along with the Nova 5 and the Nova 5 Pro, HUAWEI also introduced the Nova 5i smartphone in China. It packs a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with 90.8% screen-to-body ratio and has 24-megapixel in-screen camera, is powered by Kirin 710, unlike the Kirin 810 on the Nova 5, has up to 8GB of RAM, runs Android Pie with EMIUI 9.1 top, features quad rear cameras that includes a 24-megapixel primary camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2-megapixel camera for 4cm macro and a 2-megeapixel camera for portrait shots.

HUAWEI Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro with 6.39-inch FHD+ OLED display, 8GB RAM, quad rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner announced

HUAWEI just announced Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro smartphones in China, as it had promised. These phones pack a 6.39-inch Full HD+ OLED curved glass dewdrop notch display, run on Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.1, and feature Leica quad-lens cameras with 48-megapixel  sensor, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide sensor, 2-megapixel sensor for 4cm macro and a 2-megapixel for porait shots. These have a 32-megapixel camera on the front. The Nova 5 is powered by the latest Kirin 810 SoC and the Nova 5 Pro is powered by Kirin 980. HUAWEI Kirin 810 7nm Octa-Core SoC with Mali-G52 GPU, DaVinci NPU announced

HUAWEI just introduced Kirin 810 SoC, successor of last year’s Kirin 710 that powers several mid-range smartphones. It also detailed some features of the processor. It uses 7nm processor technology, similar to the Kirin 980 flagship SoC, and the first for a mid-range SoC. This has two ARM Cortex-A76 bigger cores clocked at 2.27GHz and the other siz smaller ARM Cortex-A55 cores are clocked at 1.88GHz. It has ARM Mali-G52 MP6 GPU, which has a 162% performance improvement over the previous generation and supports Kirin Gaming+ technology. HUAWEI and HONOR smartphones including P30 series, HONOR 20 series will get Android Q update

Last month, Google announced that it has suspended some of its business operations with HUAWEI which includes a ban on using Google Services and Play Store, later the period was extended for 3 months. After a month of the announcement of the ban, HUAWEI has today released a statement that it will continue to provide security patches and Android updates (including Android Q) to its existing smartphones. Alongside, HUAWEI smartphones, a range of HONOR smartphones are also expected to receive the update.

HUAWEI Nova 5 Pro with quad rear cameras, in-display fingerprint scanner and Nova 5 with Kirin 810 7nm SoC surface

Ahead of the official announcement on July 21st, HUAWEI Nova 5 Pro has surfaced in press shots on jd.com. This confirms quad rear cameras, waterdrop notch screen with minimal bezels and an in-display fingerpritn scanner. The phone will come in 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage versions in Forest Green, Purple, Black and Coral Orange colors.

HUAWEI Nova 5 and Nova 5i to be announced on June 21

HUAWEI has announced that it will introduce the Nova 5 series at an event in China on June 21st. The company is expected to introduce the Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5i smartphones at the event. The Nova 5i is said to be similar to the Huawei P20 Lite (2019) that surfaced  last month, which has also been certified by TENAA with the model numbers GLK-AL00 and GLK-TL00 confirming the specifications.

HUAWEI’s own ‘Oak OS’ said to launch by September

Last month, Google announced that it has suspended some of its business operations with HUAWEI which includes a ban on using Google Services and Play Store. This has forced HUAWEI to develop its own operating system, and new reports suggest that the company’s new operating system will be called ‘Oak OS’ and it will likely to go official in August or September this year.

HUAWEI P20 Lite 2019 with 6.4-inch FHD+ punch-hole display, quad rear cameras surface [Update: Detailed specs]

HUAWEI introduced the P20 Lite smartphone last year, and recently we have also seen the P30 Lite. Now the images of the P20 Lite 2019 edition has surfaced. This shows a punch-hole display, quad rear cameras, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a gradient back with an S-shaped curve. It also shows a plastic frame on the sides.

After the P smart+ 2019 in March, Huawei has silently introduced the P Smart Z, a mid-range smartphone. This has a 6.59-inch Full HD+ Ultra FullView display  with 19.5:9 aspect ratio, is powered by Kirin 710F SoC with 4GB RAM, support for GPU Turbo 2.0 and Android 9.0 (Pie) with EMUI 9.0 on top. HUAWEI P30 Pro Review: A Leap Forward

Imagine the speed at which technology has evolved if in the last hundred years, we have gone from silent B/W films shot on celluloid to audio-rich 4K HDR videos shot on smartphones.
