DataWind has launched new MoreGMax 3G6 phablet with a 6-inch display. It also comes with free Internet access for a year. Datawind had partnered with Reliance Communications last year so that phablet comes bundled with RCOM’s service offerings that will allow users to enjoy free Internet access for a year, but there are not details about FUP. A total of 1.06 million tablets including slate and detachables have been shipped in India in CY Q3 2016 remaining stagnant over the same period last year, according to International Data Corporation (IDC). The total tablet shipments grew 7.8 percent in Q3 2016 over Q2 2016.

Datawind has launched PocketSurfer GZ, its latest budget smartphone running Linux operating system for Rs. 1499. Datawind had partnered with Reliance Communications last year. As a part of this, the phone comes bundled with RCOM’s service offerings that will allow users to enjoy free Internet access for a year.
A total of 0.91 million tablets were sold in India, recording a 7% growth over the last quarter of CY 2015, according to CMR’s India Quarterly Tablet PC Market Review, 1Q CY 2016. The report said that 4G launches will increase sales of large screen smart connected devices, including tablets, for video content consumption, leading to market stabilization.
