Google’s $200 Android tablet, the Nexus 7, is a sweet little device that’s attracted a ton of press because of everything it can do for half the price of the iPad 2. Most folks get the $250 model with 16 GB of internal memory, but still, the $200 8 GB model can handle most people’s needs just fine. There’s a slight problem though. The Nexus 7 isn’t very useful if you try to use it outside your home since it can only connect to WiFi networks. If you live in a part of the world where you can connect to an open WiFi hotspot with little to no effort, then congratulations. Not everyone is so lucky. According to Paul O’Brien from MoDaCo, he says that Google will start selling a 3G enabled Nexus 7 in roughly six weeks. Asus has announced at IFA 2012 that it has renamed its Tablet 600 to Vivo Tab RT. It was originally announced at Computex in June. The specs would remain the same that includes a 10.1-inch (1366×768 pixels) Super IPS+ display with 10 fingers multi-touch panel, NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal memory. I was recently in the US on a short visit and managed to pick up the Google Nexus 7 first Android Tablet to run on Android 4.1 JellyBean. Here is a quick unboxing video of the this tiny little tablet from Google & Asus which is priced at $199 (excluding tax and shipping). This 7 inch tablet has a back-lit IPS display which sports a resolution of 1280×800 pixels

Google has announced it’s first Nexus branded tablet in partnership with Asus and it has announced the price of the 7 inch tablet. Consumers can order the tablet from the Google Play Store directly. The tablet will be available for $199 starting from mid-July. Looks like Google is taking on the Amazon Kindle Fire which is priced exactly the same. Asus has posted demo videos of their PadFone that can dock into a tablet. They unveiled the PadFone last year and revealed the complete specs of the device earlier this year at MWC 2012. The PadFone comes with a 4.3-inch (960×540 pixels), Super AMOLED capacitive Multi touch display and the PadFone Station that docks the phone has 10.1-inch display. This update brings new features such as Lockscreen Notification control, ASUS Vibe 2.0, Ethernet support via USB adapters and more. Sadly, there is no Face unlock feature in this update. Asus has finally launched the Eee Pad Transformer Prime in India. Asus announced the tablet last November. It has 10.1-inch LED backlit display that offers 178-degree viewing angle and has a maximum brightness of 600 nits. The tablet is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and runs on Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) (upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich). Asus has finally released the Bootloader unlock tool for the Transformer Prime tablet as they announced last month. This would be useful for the modding community who would like to have the bootloader unlocked and also for people who would like to install custom ROM on their tablet. So I was going through all the posts related to the surprise which nVIDIA dropped yesterday that the ASUS eee pad Transformer Prime will be receiving Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update on the same day in the U.S, and saw a comment from ASUS Singapore’s official Facebook page saying that the Transformer TF101 will receive the latest Android 4.0 update tomorrow.
