ASUS just announced the Zenfone 5, the latest smartphone in new series at the MWC 2018 in Barcelona, as expected. It has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ 19:9 Super IPS display with notch design and 90% screen-to-body ratio. The company says that it has AI Display with auto color temperate adjustment and smart screen on. It is powered by Snapdragon 636 with support for up to 6GB RAM and runs Android Oreo with ZenUI 5.0, which the company says is the cleanest ZenUI yet without any separate apps for browser, email, messaging and minimal third-party apps like Facebook and Instagram. ASUS just sent out invites for its Mobile World Congress (2018) event in Barcelona on February 27th. The invite says #BACKTO5 with the number 5 and also has “We Love Photo” tag same as the ZenFone 4 series. It also has Qualcomm Snapdragon branding along with the ASUS branding. All these hint at the announcement of ASUS Zenfone 5 series powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon SoCs. Asus has announced that it is rolling out the Android 8.0 Oreo update to the Zenfone 3 just as it had promised. The Zenfone 4 had received the Oreo update last month. ASUS India today announced permanent price cuts for a range of smartphones – ZenFone 3 (5.2, 5.5), ZenFone Max, ZenFone 3 Max (5.2, 5.5) and ZenFone Go (5.0, 5.5). Last year several ASUS smartphones received a price cuts in the country, and the new year starts with price cuts on several smartphones that were launched in the past couple of years.

ASUS has silently introduced Zenfone Max Plus (M1) in Russia. It has 5.7-inch FHD+ full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 80% screen-to-body ratio and has a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, PDAF for 0.03 second quick focus and a secondary 8-megapixel rear camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens for group photos.

ASUS has announced Zenfone 4 Selfie Lite (ZB553KL), the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone in Philippines. It has similar specifications as the Zenfone 4 Selfie single-camera version that was launched in India last month but this is powered by Snapdragon 425 and has 2GB RAM, instead of Snapdragon 430 and 3GB of RAM. ASUS has announced ZenFone V, the company’s latest smartphone exclusively for Verizon in U.S. It has a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass protection, 74.8% screen-to-body ratio, is powered by Snapdragon 820 and runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) with Zen UI 3.0. It has a 23-megapixel rear camera with OIS, EIS and TriTech auto-focus that combines laser, phase-detection, and subject-tracking auto-focus to offer focus just 0.03 seconds.
