As the Indian government increased the import duty on mobile phones from 10% to 15% last week, Apple has officially increased the price of its iPhones, including its iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X smartphones that were launched recently. Back in July when GST was implemented, Apple cut iPhone prices by up to Rs. 6,600, iPad prices by up to Rs. 3,900 and Mac rates by up to Rs. 11,800 in the country. As announced earlier this week, Apple started selling its top-end iMac Pro desktop PC from today in the U.S. starting at US$ 4,999 (Rs. 3,20,760 approx.). Apple India just announced that the iMac Pro will be available in India soon starting at a price of Rs. 4,15,000, but it did not announce the exact launch date. Apple unveiled its top-end iMac Pro desktop PC at its WWDC 2017 annual developer’s conference back in June. Today it has announced that it will start taking orders for the iMac Pro from December 14th.
Apple has launched a new feature to the App Store which now lets developers offer new apps for pre-orders on the App Store and automatically download upon the release. Apple has successfully stopped Xiaomi from trademarking Mi Pad tablet in Europe as an EU trademark as the name was too similar to Apple’s iPad.
